Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
May 05 2026

Classic sound, classic album. I love the laid-back feeling and great songwriting. Not quite the top of my list but coherence, quality and craftmanship that must be appreciated!

May 06 2026

I might like this album more if Kanye wasn't on it... Some ok beats and production, but lacks music and a front person I'd be interested in.

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
May 11 2026

The era of live musicians, rock was still young and feeling meant more than technical skills. And Janis. Magical Janis. There has never been and never will be anyone like her. Still as a whole album... meeh, it's a STRONG 3 stars!

Superunknown by Soundgarden
May 12 2026

A genre defining album with some great songs but a bit boring now 30+ years later.

Drunk by Thundercat
May 14 2026

What!? How come I haven't heard of this yet? One listen through something as complex and beautiful like this is not enough for rating. I know I will listen to this artist a lot in the future. I'm giving it only 3 stars now because although I love the musicianship and the production, I'm not sure how the songwriting hits me. Needs more spins, might change my rating later.

Dog Man Star by Suede
May 17 2026

I remember this band well from the 90's and for some reason I was never that attracted to it. I have listened to the records and seen them live in 1995 but it just didn't hit me. Now listening to this album brings me in the sonic landscape of 90's guitar driven Brit pop/rock with all the echoes, fuzz pedals etc. Unfortunately this still doesn't talk to me. Halfway through the album I find myself thinking of something else, none of the songs has felt anything else than some background sound. I'll try more later. Sorry, just not my cup of tea. I appreciate the sound of the times, but I don't care for these songs, that's why no more than two stars.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
May 18 2026

Great memories and some songs that define some of the late 90s pop aestethics. And a Black Sabbath cover! To me this is THE Cardigans album.

Justified by Justin Timberlake
May 24 2026

I remember when this came out, and how it sounded fresh. Maybe due to the latin vibes it still sounds fresh in many ways, although production is very 00's. Ok pop, but no songs that would resonate to me. That's why only 2 stars.

Porcupine by Echo And The Bunnymen
May 25 2026

Nice, an 80's album I don't remember having heard! Upbeat tempos and dramatic vocals. This is like a meaner U2 with. Going to have to listen to this again.
