1001 Albums Summary

I am starting my 1001 Albums with "Is this it " by the strokes. I went into this album with absolutely no expectations. I just wanted to let myself be surprised. It definitely succeeded in doing that. And I have to say, I really liked the album. It’s very dynamic, and I just love that Indie aesthetic. Personally, I heard a bit of the band early Arctic Monkey and Franz Ferdinand in it—I’m a huge fan of theirs. I spent most of the listening session with my eyes closed, nodding my head. Particularly striking are the very playful bass lines over the—to put it mildly—simpler guitar and drum parts. But I liked that, too. The simplicity of the song structure and, of course, the vocals are just great. So I have to say that the album is really great.Definitely worth a listen.
