4/5. While it does have some of the greatest songs ever put to record, some songs feel like filler and cheesy in a way that takes away from the cohesiveness of the album. Still one of my favorite albums of all time, Downbound Train continues to be one of the best songs Bruce ever wrote and the emotions of that and Bobby Jean with completely different feelings of losing someone are fantastic. Born in the U.S.A. as a song still hits the working class reality of America better than just about any other song and I'm On Fire is a hauntingly sensual ode. Darlington County, Working on the Highway and I'm Going Down feel out of place on an otherwise pretty poignant record.
