Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
May 15 2026

This is one of the four-album period of the Stones that I enjoy. Enjoy the acoustic and more country-tinged to the bluesier numbers, but I’d rate this right down the middle for my enjoyment. I’m super taken with how great the recording sounds on the Remastered version I listened to. I like it and appreciate it but probably won’t listen to it much. Sticky Fingers and Exile are my preference.

Fulfillingness' First Finale by Stevie Wonder
May 16 2026

Another album I probably won’t return to often, but I’m glad I listened to and that it exists. It has really amazing songs and breadth of writing here. And it feels important. My second review/album and I’m not sure how I will be rating things. I feel like it’s higher than Let It Bleed, that I have a 3. If I’m reviewing based on if I will listen to again, it’s got to be a three as well. I think I should’ve given LIB a four and will give this a four, based on enjoying and appreciating, but not going to be in regular rotation or a strong connection to.

May 17 2026

Hard for me to connect with this era/genre but it’s obviously well done. I guess all of these are “the best of all time”, right? Glad I listened to but won’t in the future.

Odelay by Beck
May 18 2026

4 or 5 for me personally. Given what it represented at the time, and how it impacted me personally, and that I can still listen to and really enjoy. Can’t say it’s objectively better than other albums I’ve rated lower, but I appreciate the groundbreaking nature, while maintaining a high degree of musicality.

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
May 20 2026

Clearly this is better than a 2/5 but I have just never had a love for recorded blues. Live is fun, and the bits of guitar playing here are interesting to me, but I sorta glaze over after 1.5 songs. It’s a “me” problem!

A Girl Called Dusty by Dusty Springfield
May 22 2026

Was going to say 4 stars because it’s an amazing collection of a lot of great songs. Production great.

Doolittle by Pixies
May 23 2026

Hard not to be biased about this. It was huge for me and listened to it sooo much. For me the perfect mix of hooks and melody with visceral, raw energy and some quirkiness to boot. Loved. Hard to rate higher than some of the incredible recordings here but it’s a 4-5 for me personally.
