This albums perfectly encapsulates melancholy - a deep sadness with a profound sense of beauty. It's brooding and terribly atmospheric, and features many of the poppy elements that The Cure began to incorporate after the Dark Trilogy. A masterpiece and the quintessential Cure album. Favourite track: Disintegration 4.5/5

Went in with few expectations, but it's fairly groovy and easy-listening stuff. No standout tracks, but it's a consistent LP that certainly deserves a couple of spins. 2.5/5
