Day 1
Before: Its kinda crazy that I started this new album journey because I wanted to listen to more music that wasn't the Beatles. And then the first album I get, IS a Beatles album.
A lot of people are really hard on this album, and while it's not their best one, it still has some great tracks on it. I may be a little biased, cuz I'm a big fan of their earlier work too, but it's such a vibe and I really like the more dark energy compared to Please Please Me. For me, this album is like an essence of early Beatles, and I think it does what it wants too very well.
The guitar, the vocals and the covers they chose, just feel like they fit so well on here.
But I feel I can't really rate it fairly, cuz I've heard it so many times it just kinda becomes something I play without realizing I'm listening to it. Like I'm so used to it, I can't really feel any new emotions towards it.
Lastly, this album cover has always been kinda funny to me. They're all standing in a line, and then there's Ringo at the bottom??

Day 2
Before: I've never heard about this artist before. Psychedelic soul does sound interesting.
I'm gonna be so honest, I did not expect that. The instrumental really stands out to me. This album has such an interesting and full sound. I'm usually a little hesitant with newer albums, cuz they sometimes have a very spare and boring instrumental, but here both hand-drums and guitar gets to shine. The overall sound of every track changes throughout and gives it this beautiful harmonic feel, where it's never the same thing. There is always something happening. The vibe of the album feels very dreamy. At times it can be rough and direct, but also majestic and light. The use of strings, electronics, vocal harmony and hand-drums makes for such a great, experimental sound. No track feels the same, or repetitive. This album takes many different sounds and blends them into this sonically stunning album.

Day 3
Before: Cool album art, I also don't know this one. Really don't listen to Jazz or Funk, so this is gonna be new.
Head Hunters feels like one never ending solo, from various instruments. Sometimes the bass, sometimes the drums and other times the horns. This album really is a groovy feel.
While it differently is jazz, the production adds in strings which I really like. It gives an unexpected lift to the music. It also has some really interesting song intros, and its use of various instruments gives it this crazy experimental sound. The tracks are really long, and that gives the album the feeling at being extremely long as well. That is something that, in my opinion, drags Head Hunters down.
This album is not something I'm personally a huge fan of, but I can appreciate is as a piece of art.
Favorite(s): Sly, Vein Melter
Day 4
Before: This looks interesting. Maybe some rock 'n' roll, country, blues, something like that?
I feel like I'm a cowboy listening to this. Although that's kinda a vibe, it gets repetitive pretty quickly. It is nice, and there are some great guitar works and solos and the harmonies scratch my brain. But this album does lack a bit of depth and I think I understand now what people mean when they say some really old albums are just a collection of singles.
And the same song twice on the album?
Favorite(s): They're Hanging Me Tonight, The Hanging Tree, Saddle Tramp
Day 5
Before: The first live album I'm getting on here. Haven't really listen to The Who much before, but sure seems intriguing.
Wow. This is more my speed, I really enjoyed this one. What I like about Live albums is that the artist speaks in-between numbers and you get a feel about what humor they have and "get to know" them a bit more, then if they were just playing. Its also a great feel, they music I amazing and turns out I really like The Who. I get the feeling of actually being at the concert, the feel, the atmosphere, the crowd. Adds something extra to the tracks.
