1001 Albums Summary

This is hard first one to listen to. Glad I gave it a chance but when you don't like a singer's voice it's hard to move past it. I am not a fan of Mark Knopfler's voice and the melodies and production don't really interest me either. And there's the issue of some of the lyrics...

Well, this is an easy one for me. It doesn't get much better than Odessey and Oracle. Psychedelic 60s Brit rock at it's ultimate best. I have loved this album forever and had to listen to it two times in a row to get enough.

I am a fan of Peter Gabriel. I tend to be attracted to his earlier work. "So" is a bit more commercial and the tracks that hit for me are the less popular ones (except "In Your Eyes".) That being said, I enjoy this album. But if I want to scratch my PG itch, I will still most likely go to earlier releases in his catalog.

Great debut. Urgent and polished, which is no easy feat. Not my favorite band but appreciate the impact and talent required to execute such a tight piece of work.
