Tiny dancer = Listening to this song (though it wasn't my first time hearing it) gave me chills for some unknown reason, a melancholy or even a memory. A happy one. I really liked it, I would listen to it by choice (keeping on a playlist probably) 4/5
Levon = I love the meaning of the song (breaking away from family traditions pursuing your own dream). I have no idea why, but the way he sings "Levon" really makes me laugh. Although I really like that song, I would give it 3.5/5
Razor face = OMG, the ending is so interesting, I really felt like on a rollercoaster. The whole song didn’t leave as strong an impression on me as the others but still I liked it 3.5/5
Madman Across The Water = This one really stands out from the rest of the songs, it makes me feel a bit unsure, not safe, maybe crazy. Definitely crazy. Intense song 4/5
Indian Sunset = since the first three songs were very similar, I am very surprised of Madman Across The Water and now this song. It's a whole different world. It sounds like revenge for me or a tragedy. They did a good job telling a historical narrative about Native Americans, I really felt that. Musically, it may not be my style, but full of emotions 3.5/5
Holiday Inn = At one moment in this song, I could totally picture David Bowie. I literally pictured him. 3.5/5
Rotten Peaches = lalalala lalalala lalalala 3/5
All The Nasties = SUCH A JUMPSCARE WHEN THE CHORUS APPEARED. Oh my soul, what a song. I'm not the biggest fan, but still okay 3/5
Goodbye = That's a good way to say goodbye to this album. That was NOT an easy goodbye 3.5/5
Overall, a very good album. Listening to it was a pleasure. Tiny Dancer was definitely the most iconic song from this album, but Ienjoyed Madman across the Water and Levon almost the same. the full album gets a 3.5/5 from me (closer to 4 than to 3).
Missing Pieces = That solo in the middle of the song is so fire!! The whole track is very enjoyable and easy to sing along to. Overall, it’s a really energetic and fun song. 3.5/5
Sixteen Saltines = Somehow, I completely missed this song the first time I heard it (okay, that’s probably just my fault). It’s definitely an interesting track, but a bit too strange for me personally. Still, I had fun listening to it, especially because of the guitar parts. However, I probably wouldn’t listen to it by choice very often. 3/5
Freedom at 21 = The main theme of the song is really catchy. “She’s got freedom in the 21st century” stayed in my head immediately. 3.5/5
Love Interruption = Ohhh, it’s a duet 😍! The main part of the song is extremely catchy, and the vocals work really well together 4/5
Blunderbuss = This feels like a completely different type of song compared to the earlier tracks. I really enjoyed its vibe, especially the beginning. 4/5
Hypocritical Kiss = THE piano opening 🔥 You can really feel a sense of disappointment and failure in expectations of love throughout the song. Very effective. 3.5/5
Weep Themselves to Sleep = I really liked the fact that the song was piano-driven, although the track itself was only okay for me. However, I listened to it a second time and IMMEDIATELY recognized it, which probably means it left a stronger impression on me than I thought 3.5/5
I’m Shakin’ = This feels like something completely different from the rest of the album. I know it was probably part of the artist’s vision, but I still have mixed feelings about it. Not a song for me 3/5
Trash Tongue Talker = Personally, I felt a bit less emotional connection with this song compared to the others. Still, I could definitely hear the blues-rock influence throughout the track, which was interesting. 3/5
Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy = The beginning reminded me of Amélie for some reason (idk why). But then the song suddenly changes direction and honestly… what was that 😭 Sorry, but this track just didn’t stand out to me very much. 2/5
I Guess I Should Go to Sleep = NOOOO, why does the beginning sound so similar to the previous song? Okay, update: the next part is WAY better. 3/5
On and On and On = Okay, here I can actually feel something emotionally. I searched for the meaning of the song afterward, and I completely understood the connection. The feelings I got from it and the message about exhaustion from constantly meeting other people’s expectations match perfectly. I loved the ending, because it genuinely feels overwhelming in an intentional way. 3.5/5
Take Me With You When You Go = I love the meaning of this song so much, especially the way the lyrical subject’s attitude toward their lover suddenly changes throughout the track. I also really liked the overall structure and emotional delivery 3.5/5
Overall, I liked this album, but I honestly don’t think I will return to the full project very often. Maybe I’ll revisit some songs from the beginning of the album, though. The track I enjoyed the least was definitely Hip (Eponymous) Poor Boy. Overall, I would give the album a 3.5/5, although it leans a bit more toward a 3 for me personally
