Is This It by The Strokes
May 27 2026

I knew so many songs that i didnt realise were from this album. Someday has got to be my favorite, but I honestly vibed with all the songs. Insanely good, arguably the best album from The Strokes, followed closely by The New Abnormal, although they are very different from each other. Also listened to their new single, Falling out of Love, but I didnt enjoy it as much. The vocal effects on this one are just not my taste, maybe Im rather traditional in that i prefer the band to stick to their original sound. Same thing happened to me with the Artic Monkeys, I love the rock/punk sound they started out with (Whatever People Say I Am is my favourite album of theirs), but I found them less interesting as the band evolved into a more pop rock genre. Anyhow, Im excited for The Strokes next album, hoping to get some more of the vibe that Is This It has.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
May 28 2026

Starting off strong with Blister in The Sun. Inmediatly got me groovin' and kept it up with Kiss Off and its weird guitar riffs (ill have to look it up because it sounds like the guitar is not tuned). So far Im loving this raw punk sound. At Add It Up i start to realize its unapologetically revolutionary for its time, also, overall angry. Moving on, Prove My Love has to be one of my favourites, chorus sounds very much beatley while mainting those "dirty" rock riffs; and Promise just very much feels like a continuation of Prove My Love. Who said you cant absolutely rock it with a xilofone, masterpiece!!!

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath

Im going in biased with this album because i dont generally like metal but im already feeling surprised with Wheels of Confusion.

Moving Pictures by Rush

i was scared of that 10 minute long song but it was actually BANGING the whole way through. Not really conected with the whole album though

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5

Really really good. I find hiphop and similar rythm focused styles can end up being repetitive, but this album didnt make me loose attention any second. Base and background melodies are really catchy and rich (as in they really differ between songs so it makes it more interesting), and lyrics dont stay behind. Every song has a really strong hook that makes it stick and truly vibe with it. Also has some more experimental tracks and elements that make it stand out. I dont know what it is, but the formula that they have going on works (i feel like a snake being hipnotised out of its vase everytime a day at the races or whats golden plays), overall i really loved it, certainly will be giving it a second, third, and multiple more listenings.
