This album was basically a battle between me and the guitar, and the guitar won. I went in thinking, “Okay, cool 80s vibes,” and ended up really appreciating the musicianship, especially the riffs and solos. There were moments where I literally stopped what I was doing just to listen to the guitar. Witch Hunt was my favorite track, and Red Barchetta was a pleasant surprise. That said, not every song grabbed me. Some parts felt a little boring, and while I can absolutely understand why Moving Pictures is considered a classic, I didn’t connect with it enough to start saving tracks or replaying the album regularly. This is one of those records where I respect it more than I love it. Great musicianship, great production, and some genuinely impressive moments, but not something I’d personally reach for often. 4/5 stars.
