Nirvana Unplugged: 2/5 I don't want to ever listen to this again, but it wasn't painful to listen to. Up until Something in the Way, I was waiting for the album to be over. Really felt like I was tapping my foot and staring at my watch. Building a fence probably isn't the right way to listen to this though, unless you hate your job. It's a very subdued album that mostly blends together and sounds the same, but that's probably just due to the unplugged live nature of it. Feels like edible music, like I'm not supposed to be listening to it sober. It's just not music I want to be listening all that intently to. I need to be on some sort of downer to appreciate it, but I don't go for weed or heroin, so it's just not going to be for me. But Something in the Way was great. Very somber. This is definitely music from a guy who killed himself. I bet this is one of his last recordings and that's why it's on the list. If I knew more of the emotional context, maybe I'd have the appreciation for it, but I don't. It was okay though.
