The soulful “don’t give up” featuring kate bush was definitely the highlight for me. With a hit song as sledgehammer i expected more from this album. This album wasn’t really captivating enough to intrigue me for 46 minutes long. I like his earlier work for their complex layers. This album production wise was simplistic and not as intricate as his earlier work. I like the flute and triangle as appearing as addition form time to time. The bassline and groove in “big time” was also something i appreciated. Although i share this opinion i still can see the appeal of this album for people who enjoy 80’s pop more than i do. I have a wide knowledge of 80’s music but it’s definitely the decade of music i listen the least to with decades like the 70’s, 90’s and 00’s existing. I give this album a solid 7/10
