Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes

Couldn't even get through this album😭. I like to keep it respectful but respectfully ts is ass to me, it is NOT for me and thats okay. The spaghetti acoustic, the lead singers voice, these dudes remind me of hobo johnson, the king of burger music I cant bruh😂😂😂

Violator by Depeche Mode

I really enjoyed this. I loved the flow of the songs, the monotone voice of the lead singer juxtaposing with the lively electronic instrumentals works so well. Genuinely solid album.

This may not be exactly my kind of music BUT, I can appreciate good music without necessarily enjoying it altogether. I think this was a good album, good progression and great quality, but for the fact it doesn't really resonate with me in a way I'd love I'll rate it a little lower than I believe it to be.

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Jun 27 2026

Respectfully, I did not enjoy this at all. It's almost laughable how much I disliked it. It's just not for me and that's okay.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Jun 28 2026

My first 5 star album. I thoroughly enjoyed the production on this, so much so that I didn't even realise it was different people. I love how harmonious the voices are in many of the tracks as well, it gives an eerie feeling (that I very much welcome). I may not understand the language spoken but I believe music transcends language, and this is a great example of that. PEAK.

I love the overall haunting or creepy vibes the album gave off for me. There were certain songs on it as well that stood that to me specifically for that. It’s a great album and a lot of its songs will most definitely be getting on my playlists.

This was a pleasure. The overall tone and vibe of the album is extremely calming and soothing, making it perfect for peaceful background music.

Talk Talk Talk by The Psychedelic Furs
Jul 01 2026

The beginning was off to a strong start but I felt the middle was too repetitive and samey most of the time. Thankfully, towards the end I think they got their groove back and got it back up, very very solid album I enjoyed this and saved more than a few songs from this as well. If the middle was just a tad bit better this would be rated much higher, nonetheless a good album!

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Jul 02 2026

This is my first 5 star album rated not on how good it sounds but on the message and theme of the album. The speaker sings about societal issues such as aggressive nationalism, racism, and in my opinion, religion. He paints the picture in such a satirical tone that I mistook it for praise of these issues rather than the opposite, critique. If I didn't seek to understand what he truly meant I would've missed the entire message and that goes to show how skilled he is at his art. I'm not rating this a 5 for how good it sounded to me or the melodies, but for the overall message and how well it was passed. Fantastic.

THIS IS MY KIND OF MUSIC!!! I already knew I was going to rate this a 5 because I enjoy music like this, very soul, very loving, very BLACK. Every song on here was a 10/10, my only critique are the interviews at the end but it's more of a nitpick than a critique because skipping them is an option. My favourite album so far!!

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Jul 04 2026

This was POWERFUL. I'm sure one of the other enthusiastic reviewers said this earlier but the instruments work so well together, almost like they're singing its genuinely so beautiful. I listened to this while studying and I've not studied any better honestly. 10/10

Idlewild by Everything But The Girl
Jul 05 2026

After listening to this album I've decided never to read the reviews on here before actually listening to the album. These people come on here and give their takes on music like its a universal fact its so conceited honestly. I came into this expecting trash but it was extremely welcoming and I enjoyed this, especially the beginning!! Strong start and strong end to such a serene and peaceful album, loved it.

The Yes Album by Yes

I won't lie, this was slightly disappointing. I don't really like giving low reviews but I have to be honest with myself. Right off the bat the album feels extremely slow, the acoustic guitar as well doesnt really help. It picked it back up a bit later but it couldnt maintain it. To top it all of it really all just sounds too similar to each other to the point I was wondering if I was listening to song I heard previously before lmao. There was one fantastic part though, the middle of the 3rd song is genuinely fantastic. One of the best riffs I've ever heard, I just wish it was consistent like that throughout the album.

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Jul 08 2026

I hate to do this as I really wanted to enjoy this album a bit more but it just wasn't for me. I resonate and love their other projects but I couldn't feel the same way for this unfortunately. One thing I will say though is that the quality is music quality is as fantastic as always.

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jul 09 2026

Honestly if I could give this a higher rating I would, such a fantastic album oh my goodness😭. It starts off by speaking on the race, class and societal disparities and problems doing so in such a well constructed way its almost tear jerking for me. Furthermore, talking about the beauty of rap but not just talking about it but showing that through their music. This quality is kept consistent and even taken up a notch throughout the album. Listen, I'm no reviewer but the lyrics, the beats, the soul, the messages and everything behind this album make this a 5/5 for me. Anyone who underhands this and reduces this album to "trash" because its rap is being disingenuous and has ulterior racist motives. They should reserve their discriminatory opinions to their miserable self. Beautiful album!

Jul 10 2026

Wasn't bad to me but it also wasn't fantastic unfortunately! Most songs towards the end were really good though. The main issue for me is the similarities between the songs in the beginning, none of them really brought me in. Overall just a really okay album for me!

Channel Orange by Frank Ocean

There are TOO many classics on here, I love this album so much. First album I've known beforehand too! 5/5
