1001 Albums Summary

I really enjoyed how grand everything was, but the songs felt very disconnected from each other and from me - didn't really vibe with the lyrics. No shade but all my favorite moments are the ones he stops singing. I found his voice a bit distracting since i really enjoy the instrumentals, especially when the strings hit. Found the later tracks a bit more my style, but Elton John's style in general isn't my thing. Favorites: "Tiny Dancer", "Rotten Peaches" 2.5/5

I'm not a big fan of country music, but something about his voice, the deep sounds, and the bass - it becomes very comforting. Hearing a high note from a harmonica or a piano in the middle of all those slow and deep instruments just feels so nice and calming. The songs flow well from one to another to form a cohesive story in which you can feel every emotion of the main character in both the melody and the lyrics, and join him throughout this little journey. Even tho it's not something i'd listen to every day, i have a feeling i'll come back to it just because of how warm and personal it felt - really good vibes from this short album. Favorites: "Time of the Preacher", "Red Headed Stranger", "Can I Sleep in Your Arms" gave it 3 starts at first but then i finished it and immediately wanted to hear it again, so i figured it probably deserves 4.
