Bookends by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 17 2026

New to reviewing albums! So not totally sure what to list. Very beatles-inspired, but more gentle and folksy. Simple but iconic.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Jul 20 2026

it's ok. probably the best of this smarmy 70s stuff that I've heard but not a genre I'm into

L.A. Woman by The Doors
Jul 21 2026

Fun, bluesy music! Makes me wanna listen to Procol Harum, and reminds me of playing these tracks with my buddy Kyle when I was just learning the bass guitar. Love Her Madly was a real standout, I learned part of the bassline as an exercise. I also read up on the band's bass situation - the keyboardist played the bass part live, but when it came time to make studio recordings they hired a session bassist. He brings a lot to the tracks I think!

Paranoid by Black Sabbath
Jul 22 2026

I wrote a review for this, but it was lost :/ In summary, Planet Caravan stands out the most to me. Paranoid was also pretty good, but otherwise the sound was kind of bland.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Jul 24 2026

decent doo-wop. Songs are fun but get really samey
