A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Aug 04 2026

A Love Supreme is something special to John Coltrane; the premise of his spiritual awakening to God. His jazz accompaniments work very well in that favour where it's a conversation, a search to find that in his arrangement. It's a beautiful piece but I am not much of a jazz person; so it didn't really emit the same wavelength as a jazz lover would. But I see why it can be a grand arrangement. I personally love all trumpet work in this; replacing all signs of vocal melodies this record does not need.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones

I feel for it, just probably not my thing. There's a lot of music genre switches in this album, and I feel relatively lukewarm for all of them. I'm not a good review for this though; I think I need to listen to it more and more before I can totally say what the general public thinks about it.

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone

an actual jam, more impressed by the fact that they can make guitars say slurs. Maybe we should regard them as humans too with the similar speech patterns they have.
