1001 Albums Summary

That's how soul/R&B is supposed to sound, not the watered-down autotuned shit that's currently being produced. This isn't really the kind of stuff I'd run out and buy, and I wouldn't put it in my top 1000. But I can see how others would rate it very high.

I first heard this one as an impressionable young college freshman, and my musical tastes, outlook, and direction have never been the same. It was a life-changing experience. This one is in my all-time top 2 or 3.

Starts off strong but meanders into New Age synth territory. Not his best.

I've never been a fusion fan, and this album hasn't changed that. It's OK background music. I just finished listening to it and I could probably listen to it again without realizing it's the same album.

Great example of hardcore kids getting older and wiser.
