1001 Albums Summary

The concept of all songs is pretty similar and the whole album sounds really monotonous after 38 minutes. There isn't a lot of variety. The melodies and hooks aren't really my cup of tea either but the lyrics/message are/is fine and relatable even though sometimes it's a little bit negative. All in all I rate this album like 3 of 5 stars. It's listenable and some songs like "She", "Sassafras Roots", "When I Come Around" or "Pulling Teeth" are actually kinda nice to listen to. To me very outstanding was the album not though. That could be because to me everything kinda sounded all over the place and I couldn't really go along with it. I dunno though, maybe I'm just biased cause I don't really like Billie Joe Armstrongs vocals.

Very American Country. So definitely not for everyone. But for those who appreciate a well made country album this may be enjoyable. The key concept of the album seems to be the feeling of longing for someone or something. Whether it might be longing for the past, the future or something in the present. Personally I couldn't really listen to the whole album and fully enjoy it. Although songs like "Early Morning Breeze", "Here I Am" or "The Way I See You" were quite listenable, I didn't find any of the songs to be special or good enough to actively listen to them over and over again. But this is only coming from personal taste and my dislike for country music. I have to admit quality wise the album is great for country lovers and objectively deserves a 4/5. The album starts of quite boring but the last few songs are well rounded and start to alternate from each other which makes them more interesting.
