Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Aug 28 2026

This album is what all soundtrack albums need to study. The visual design of the movie bleeds through the music. Perfect representation of what I imagine the movie would feel like. Curtis Mayfields voice is wonderful. The lyrics tell a much darker story and the funky sound masks the reality of the situations being talked about. An example being “Freddie’s Dead” which has a very creepy vibe and content matter. Also want to have a special shout out to “Junkie Chase (Instrumental)” which is absolute perfection.

Dookie by Green Day

Nostalgic as fuck and I never actually fully listened to it before. This album borders a fine line of awesome and annoying. A very fine line. At the same time its not hard to love the charm.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground

This was a pretty rough listen for me. One of the album/artist that I have always heard about but never listened too. I probably had to high of expectations and am not able to really give it the credit it seems to deserve for these sounds coming from ‘69. But I kinda felt everything was pretty middle of the road. I liked the lyrical content of “Candy Says” the story behind the song makes it pretty progressive especially for the time but i don't think it really translated to the song itself. “Pale blue eyes” is clearly the best song off the album. I also enjoyed “Some kinda love” but that’s where my appreciation for Lou Reed kinda ends since the second best song on the album (the closer) isn’t sung by Lou. I also want to show big love to by far the most interesting experience on this album being “The Murder Mystery”. An almost 10 minute mind fuck of a song. I still have hope I will enjoy the album with the bandanna on it. ⭐️⭐️✨

Heroes by David Bowie

First David Bowie record for me and definitely feels like a weird one to start. Weird record for a weird guy. I can feel a lot of modern music being born from Bowies music. Really couldn’t predict what kind of music was gonna be next with this album what seems to be a lot of out there weirdness. I don’t imagine this album really high up in bowies discography of like great albums. I’m not really sure what makes this specific album a must listen. I was also surprised by the title track being like the 3rd most played Bowie track. With that expectation I was a little disappointed with the song (it is still a good song). Best song was “blackout” and “beauty and the beast”. Sadly I did leave this album just wanting more from it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Sep 02 2026

Oh wow what debut record. I had to do some research on this one after listening to it. How the fuck was this made in 1983?? I don’t think anyone could have guessed it. The instrumentation is wonderful and simple. The first time the band played together was for the lead singer school assembly. Instead of playing the agreed upon song with the school they ended preforming “Gimme The Car”. The story’s for this band and this album are really interesting. Self funded for around 10k. The studio they were recording at was secretly going out of business so each season equipment was missing. They were being sold by the studio. The producer was the janitor at the studio wtf. Simultaneously an unashamed yet insecure album written by a 15 year old highschool virgin. Perfection. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Why is the intro so damn beautiful? Mc Solaar just flows so well over all of this amazing production from Jimmy Jay. It’s a really nice vibe had me dance cleaning for pretty much the whole album. Wish I could understand the lyrical content since it sounds so nice. I think the album is a little on the long side and a zoned out a bit towards the end. The album name in English goes insanely hard "He who sows the wind reaps the tempo"
