The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Aug 31 2026

idk what i expected - expectations were certainly high because this seems to be a cult classic and an overall important album. there are some undeniable bangers but in-between those there are some more lackluster songs that failed to make much of an impression. but the highs are really really high, it's just that you really only wanna listen to the good ones. best songs: "Venus In Furs", "Heroin"

only heard one Bob Dylan song prior to this and this exceeded all my expectations. really reminds me of early Bowie. now i have the urge to buy it on vinyl. best songs: "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream", "Mr. Tambourine Man", "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)"

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Sep 02 2026

some of these songs fucking draaaaaag, especially in the first half. i had the urge to skip the album but i'm glad i stuck through because the closer is amazing. i had high hopes after i listened to Bringing It All Back Home (my first Dylan album) yesterday since i really enjoyed it (4 stars), but i struggled with this one. this album was too long and also felt kinda redundant, especially the section with nothing but cringeworthy horny songs (and i've listened to a lot of hair metal, and even that didn't usually give me such an ick). i'll never listen to this album whole but some of these songs are going to my playlist. best songs: "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands"

Queen II by Queen
Sep 03 2026

some really masterful work. loved Freddie's voice and the harmonies. great instrumentals all around. didn't expect this to have an overall fantasy theming but i'm not mad at it. might be overrating this as this is my first experience hearing anything from Queen other than Bohemian Rhapsody and Under Pressure but this just makes me more excited to hear their other stuff. this was also a breath of fresh air after having to listen to two Bob Dylan albums, this was actually fun. best songs: "Ogre Battle", "The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke", "The March of the Black Queen"

The Genius Of Ray Charles by Ray Charles
Sep 04 2026

a really smooth and pleasant listen. Ray has a great voice and the instrumentals never disappointed. i would say there are no bad songs on this album but some do blend together quite a bit. but there was no moment where i wasn't vibing. it feels kind of simple but it just works. best songs: "Am I Blue"

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Sep 07 2026

the instrumentals never missed but i wasn't the biggest fan of the singing personally. best songs: "The Dark Of The Matinée", "Come On Home"
