1001 Albums Summary

I am a musician, i am really into all kinds of things related to music, i do listen to lots of albums and songs and artists and think about what i hear, how its been produced and what its trying to imply. The problem is, i probably don't know how to write them down as legitimate reviews, which are actually reasonable and have lots of arguments to support them. This is the first album on my journey with this tool : https://1001albumsgenerator.com/ Shine on you crazy diamond (Pts 1-5): Really good and ambient start, really sets a mood, the guitar is really beautiful and then when the song just explodes on with all the instruments it creates a feeling like no other. The first guitar "solo" is creative, skillful and definetly David Gilmour. The guitar solo after another solo is just simply beautiful. It follows really great from the solo while being its own person. It fits really well with everything else in the song and is a masterpiece. The singing works in the song, the "you were caught in the crossfire..." better in my opinion than just "shine on you crazy diamond". Then there is another great guitar part. Then follows the same pattern, until the saxophone solo. It is also very good overall, the melodies are interesting and the style changes a bit halfway. The song ends on a fade out, blending into Welcome to the Machine. Welcome to the machine: Quite an exotic start with the factorial sounds. Then there comes a good guitar with synth sounds out of this era. The synth bass sounds really good, with every one changing between left and right channels. The singing is good, the athmosphere at 2 mins 27 is unreal, the great guitar, synth sound, unique sounds and the bass. The new synth at 2 50 is also nice to listen to even though high. All the generated sounds mixed with a traditional guitar really set this song apart from the other songs in the album, and to my knowledge also from all songs from this time. The keyboard synth solo at 5 mins 15 onwards is while not by playing very hard, the sound itself and all the stereo effects already make it very impressive. The song ends with a first accelerating then decelerating tone (rising and sinking), followed by a thump (possibly a car door being closed) and people laughing at a social function. Have a Cigar Great riff with acoustic instruments followed by the same unique synth sounds playing a melody in unison with some bass element. The other bass part after this in the verse is quite funky and good sounding. The entire song sounds good, pleasant to listen and the opposite of bland. The guitar solo at ~3:20 is another impressive masterpiece, using many techniques and being very versatile with the melodies. It is very interesting, nice to listen to and just overall great. The song ends with a sudden extreme high pass and the full sound moving between left and right. Wish you were here: It starts with the same high pass as in have a cigar, being only on the right channel where Have a Cigar ended up. At 1 minute the pressure is relieved by an acoustic riff in the left channel and finally chords being played to both ears. The singing and lyrics are very emotional. The chord progression, instruments and just the song overall creates strong emotions, which really depend on the listener. Right now, i miss the people closest to me but am happy i will see them in a relatively short time. Shine on you crazy diamond (Pts 6-9): Ambient start, good instruments and melodies. At 2:27 when the song becomes faster-perceived and the guitar solo really gets going the song becomes even better. The guitar solo is just beautiful, with it being so long and still impressive the whole time. The occasional harmonies really flavour it. Then the song changes and becomes the same as the first shine on you crazy diamond. Then there is a new guitar part, which is really beautiful. The background harmonics and the Rhodes-keyboard are so good sounding they make you just immersed in the music, the groovy clavinet with all the layers before it just makes it even better. Groovy guitar, clavinet, rhodes and bass with the synth melodies whining around makes this a very unique portion of the song. It starts to slowly fade away with pads playing chords, then a new part starts. It features emotional chords on a piano, a saxophone and synth pad in the background. The saxophone melody really makes you think. The long solo ends on a long major chord, changing more torwards happy from longing. On this chord, different instruments play small melodies, but eventually it all fades away and the album is over. The album is stitched together really well, i really enjoyed listening to it and writing this, i was studying for a test at the same time so i most likely missed some things and this was my first real review so i definetly made lots of misinterpretations.
