1001 Albums Summary

Album Number 1 on my list… I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come because it’s genuinely unlistenable….

Give me a break. How Bowie is so influential will never cease to amaze me. This would have been a waste of 42 minutes had I not skipped almost every single song as soon as he opened his mouth.

No bad songs, some actively good bops. Storytelling, imagery and wordplay at times is phenomenal but fundamentally is exactly what you’re expecting it to be. I’m not the right demographic but would listen again.

Whiney tripe. Lyrics like “some girls mothers are bigger than other girls mothers” sung badly over a terrible track has me at a loss for words. If this is what made it into the album imagine the drivel left on the cutting room floor. Apple Music describe this album as, possibly, The Smiths strongest. If true, I never want to hear another smiths song as long as I live.

Just fine, some songs caught my attention but not enough to give me pause.
