1001 Albums Summary

Surprised by this album as I've tried to listen to bob dylan albums and foumd them very inconsistent. The first half feels like it should just be standard unremarkable 12bar blues but has but, other than in the road again, the songs are remarkably varied and the electric guitar and harmonica is well layered over dylans voice. The slower second half is much better although I'm not a big fan of its alright ma I'm only bleeding as it drones on. Favourite: mr tambourine man Likes: subterranean homesick blues, she belongs to me, outlaw blues, bob dylans 115th dream, gates of Eden. Dislikes: on the road again, it's alright ma I'm only bleeding

Good collection of rock songs. Some of the songs blend into each other a bit too much, and, other than the last two songs the ballads are weak, but everybody hurts and man in the moon are iconic for a reason and the orchestral parts on night swimming are great. Favourite: everybody hurts Likes: drive, the sidewinder sleeps tonight, sweetness follows, man on the moon, night swimming, find the river. Dislikes: try not to breathe, ignoreland, star me kitten. 7.8/10
