I dont have many words to describe this album as a whole but one thing I can say is that the song Bye is one of the most perfect songs I have ever heard in my life. Loved the album. I was glued to the lyrics page during the entirety of it. Fun note is how he in the beginning parts of the album goes into the concept of artists and labels being "safe" and profit-motivated as opposed to prioritizing art and creativity. Side-note, apparently there are two bonus songs on the japanese release version of the album of which the song Figure 8 is among them, I recommend listening to it, its also really good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5iu4vURDWI Fuck man... Bye is so beautiful.

Read the lyrics, I can't tell if it's me not being able to English or him being too cryptic but I couldn't figure out the meaning behind like half the lines. But what I did understand sounded pretty repetitive. I understand wanting to reuse the same thoughts, I don't get many unique thoughts myself, but maybe make your album shorter or something. Reusing one of my earlier thoughts. The main difference I see between Björk and Kate Bush is how more intimate Björk's music is, I feel like it's directed at me personally, like I'm the one she speaks to. With Kate Bush I felt more like I was invited to watch a spectacle, I'm allowed to see only what she decides to show me. And then there's Elliott Smith, this album makes me feel like I'm his therapist. Funnily enough, the bonus song Figure 8 doesn't have this problem, I liked it. Bye and The Roost are also great but do not redeem the rest of the album in my eyes.
