It was a nice shoegaze album with some really nice moments, bur also with couple annoying parts, that had brought the whole experience down. The guitars wall of sound was setting up the atmosphere really well, I think it was a great foundation for a breathtaking piece of music (when comparing it to a band like Deafheaven). Unfortunately, band decided to add a very calm vocal, which wasn't perfect, but also wasn't a real, glaring hole on the album. What was breaking the immersion you felt, created by other instruments, was drumming line. The rhythmic and rather rock'n'roll style of drums was like from a completely different story than the rest of band. I even think that some of the songs were unlistenable because of it. A very big mixed bag. I was thinking it's 2,5 stars, which I usually round up, but in this case I will rather go with a lower end.
