I am unfamiliar with Manu Chau, when I received this album to listen to I admit I was not looking forward to it. I assumed it was a typical latin-pop-dance album...boy was I wrong. This album charmed me from the opening. Subtle but deceptively complex arrangements and production. Stylistically diverse and always interesting. The vocals are nasally and won't be to everyone's taste but the singing always comliments the arrangements. This is so much more than pop musidc. Its magic is in the way it offers a folk music feel while maintaining popular sensibilities. 4 stars
