One of the most overplayed songs in the British radio! It's still a great track, but listening to it at least twice a day is unbearable. But it's a nice experience to witness the full album that the song is coming from. The everlasting tune I'm talking about is of course "Our House". In smaller doses, a great track for every type of mood. Some of the album fits the same mould. Two songs to start "The Rise & Fall" are pretty comparable, with a high energy, ska-like funk and good vocal. Afterwards, we are greeted by 10 songs that are trying too much. Very polyrythmic beats, broken in few places to make it more interesting, probably, but making it really hard to listen. There is no more flow, and even the vocal stagnates, like the whole band just stopped caring all of a sudden. In general, it's a very average album with few great exceptions, and it helped me make a decision, that Madness is probably not a band I would like to listen to in the future.
