Screamadelica
Primal Scream

i have NEVER heard of this band before but i'm already kinda interested. let's see track 1, Movin on Up: i feel like the song would have been better without the piano, but still good. 6.5/10 track 2, Slip Inside This House: i couldn't put a reason to why but the beginning of this track makes me think of Tubthumping by Chumbawamba. in any case, the body of this song really puts the "-delica" in Screamadelica. 9/10 track 3, Don't Fight It, Feel It: well. i'm definitely Feeling It, whatever It may be. 7/10 track 4, Higher Than the Sun (Single Mix): oh the It was drugs. okay gotcha we're vibin 7/10 track 5, Inner Flight: is every song title going to be a thinly veiled drugs reference? because i'm okay if that's the case it's just really funny. 6/10 track 6, Come Together: i can only assume it is at this point that the drugs taken at the start of the album have kicked in, because i could easily see myself with a thousand-yard stare just listening to this track. 7/10 track 7, Loaded: "we wanna be loaded and have fun" extremely relatable, 7/10 track 8, Damaged: i'm sure everyone's familiar with the stages of being high - "this edible ain't anything", "oh i'm going to the moon", "let's have a great time", and now we're at "time to get extremely emotional about my life". i prefer to skip past that phase directly into "family guy unconscious pose" but there's something to be said for the introspection. 7/10 track 9, I'm Comin' Down: the title of this song is presented without comment. 8/10 track 10, Higher Than the Sun (A Dub Symphony in Two Parts): the truly funniest thing might be that when typing the song title, i wrote "Sub" instead of "Dub", which goes to show my preference in anime. i had to go back to track 4 and compare that one and this one, and while there is notable difference between the two, i don't think i could put words to how. you're just gonna have to trust me on this one (or don't, i'm not your dad) 7/10 track 11: Shine Like Stars: love that accordion! a nice and calm vibe to end off the album with. 9/10 overall: 7.3/10 -> 3.51/5 and that's enough to round it up to a 4/5 for me babey! absolutely not the kind of thing i'd go out of my way to listen to but definitely worth a listen.
