Liking this more than I thought I was going to and, of course, am realizing that I know a few more Deep Purple songs than I thought. The “live” elements stood up for the most part - drum solo on “The Mule” was pretty entertaining - not sure if all my drummer friends would say the same but - sounded good to me. After listening all the way through, this album kinda sounds like someone needed a soundtrack and for a 70’s era period movie and some good studio musicians came out a week later and said —How about this? That isn’t necessarily a bad thing!
