Nirvana
3/5
This album was never all that appealing to me, couldn't really understand why everybody fawned over it so much -- part of the appeal to Nirvana, to me, was the noise, the feedback, distortion, Dave Grohl abusing his drum kit. It says something that my favorite song on this is actually a Meat Puppets song. That being said, it is also a fine listen, but nothing spectacular.

Eminem
1/5
Meh, I forgot about the days where there were skits or interludes between every track -- glad those went out of style (except for the Wu-Tang interludes -- those are still the best thing ever). This is just a, mostly, boring album that seems to care more about shock value of what Em is saying than anything else. I do appreciate some Eminem -- not this album.

Genesis
1/5
Yeah, no thanks. If my music is gonna tell a story— it is gonna be METAL!!!! And probably the story will be about dragons n’ shit!

Radiohead
2/5
IDK, I might like it more with repetition, but it won’t crack the rotation to get those spins. Pleasant and ethereal at times and then boring and drawn out at others..

ABBA
4/5
First time listening to a full-length (not hits album or compilation) from ABBA. Poppy as all hell of course! Infectious, nothing offensive, good hooks, beats, production, vocal, ---probably won't ever listen to it again after today.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
1/5
Not a fan, I know people love these guys but I just can’t get behind it. Our house is probably the only song I listened to all the way through. Sometimes they sound like the hippy beach boys at times
Metallica
3/5
I hadn’t listened to this album in a very long time. It still stands up as a very approachable metal album. I prefer And justice for all as a complete album but there are certainly a few kickers on their eponymous album.
The Go-Go's
3/5
I had never listened to an album all the way through from the Go-Go's before today. I had certainly heard "Our Lips Are Sealed" and "We Got the Beat" before and those were certainly a fine listen and were highlights on the album but I think the songs that stuck out for me were "Tonite" and "You Can't Walk in You Sleep (If You Can't Sleep)" as they had a little more depth to me and weren't quite as "poppy". I would think the Go-Go's must have a been a really fun live show!
Beatles
2/5
At first glance I said, "Ugh, really -- I actually don't want to listen to that". We will see how it goes today. Update: Ok fine, it was just fine. Sounds like The Beatles, maybe there is some backstory about why it was groundbreaking back in the day but, I probably won't ever listen to it again (as I hadn't ever listened to it all the way through before).
Maxwell
4/5
Ooh, I bought this one when it came out (or shortly there after). It was a big departure from my normal punk, thrash, and metal purchasing profile but this and D’Angelo’s Brown Sugar record are part of my mid to late 90’s R&B/soul collection. Some of the jazz elements that I thought were so cool in the 90’s don’t seem as innovative now as then but still a solid, smooth and silly listen
Baaba Maal
2/5
This is a fine album. It was good background music while working. I probably won’t be circling back to this anytime soon but a pleasant listen.
Blue Cheer
3/5
I had never heard of this band or album. After reading a bit, I can see why they get the credit of being an early metal or the first metal band. I hear Jimi Hendrix on "Summertime Blues", The Doors on "Rock Me Baby" (mostly the vocals) and in general I find it an interesting listen.
Stevie Wonder
4/5
I like Stevie Wonder and I like this album. The “singles” in this album are certainly the most memorable with Superstition being a top song regardless of genre for me! But overall the rest of the songs don’t stand out too much but are fine as.
Deep Purple
3/5
Liking this more than I thought I was going to and, of course, am realizing that I know a few more Deep Purple songs than I thought. The “live” elements stood up for the most part - drum solo on “The Mule” was pretty entertaining - not sure if all my drummer friends would say the same but - sounded good to me. After listening all the way through, this album kinda sounds like someone needed a soundtrack and for a 70’s era period movie and some good studio musicians came out a week later and said —How about this? That isn’t necessarily a bad thing!
Amy Winehouse
4/5
I think this a good to great album. I didn't know until reading the notes today that The Dap-Kings were Amy's backing band -- and that makes so much sense! I am sucker for the R&B/Soul revival and is one of the best in the genre!
The Doors
3/5
I haven’t listened to the Doors in years. My first three CDs that I purchased myself: The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana. I don’t have anything bad to say about this album, nor do I have anything all that good to say about this album. A fine listen, but nothing more than that for me….
Nirvana
LCD Soundsystem
3/5
I had never listened to this album at all and so far, I am liking it! I felt my foot tapping along while it played along in the background while working. I may need to put this on my "work" list for concentrating. I like "Us vs Them" and "sound of silver" and kinda dig most of the songs in their own way. A good listen
Supergrass
4/5
I knew of Supergrass, but I think I had them way more in the generic pop, like Spacehog (I actually have had these bands confused). I was very pleasantly surprised but this album and would probably circle back to this one sometime soon.
Franz Ferdinand
1/5
Meh, wasn’t a big fan then and don’t really see the appeal now either. I don’t think this album should be in the list
Solange
2/5
This album is just fine, nothing too exciting but has a general mix of soft R&B sounds.....
Kraftwerk
3/5
This was pretty good, a little sparse as you would expect. Overall a good album to have on in the background as I work..
Sister Sledge
2/5
Pretty ok Dance/70's music -- I have heard my partner's family sing "We are Family" every year at New Years for seemingly ever!
1/5
Meh, I kinda liked the minor key "intermission" at the end of Chemical World. Mostly forgettable.
Marvin Gaye
5/5
Between "What's Goin on?" and "Let's Get it On" Marvin Gaye can do no wrong! Classic albums!
The Doors
3/5
At first, I sighed, the Doors.... again. It felt too soon but, all in all this was a pretty good listen, will not put it in rotation -- but good hear.
The Police
2/5
I thought I was going to like this more than I did. I have seen them in concert and really enjoyed it —- really didn’t enjoy this album at all.
The Stranglers
3/5
I kinda dig it! I get some Elvis Costello vibes on some songs and then some loose Cramps vibes on some other songs.
Neil Young
1/5
Nope, not a fan. I just can’t get past his voice, I just don’t like it when Neil sings. The music is fine, just not the rest.
Eminem
Lou Reed
2/5
Beyond Perfect Day, Wildside, and Good Night Ladies a very forgettable album for me but those songs are good...
Drive-By Truckers
3/5
Pretty good, I much prefer the DBT with Jason Isbell, just my personal preference. I think he joined right after this album (and actually toured with them performing this) -- Decoration Day is at top 20 song for me..
The Rolling Stones
2/5
Serviceable but pretty ordinary, bluesy rock -- nothing stood out to me.
Television
2/5
Ok, I thought I would like this more. Just some decent background noise.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
2/5
No thanks.
Slipknot
3/5
I like this album, it really brought me back to a very specific time in my life and I have found that at my core I might still be that disgruntled and disaffected youth when you strip away the years and the gray hairs!
Michael Jackson
2/5
Pretty ok, Dirty Diana is probably the song I enjoyed the most on this album. I hadn't listened to much MJ in a very long time (not that I ever really did).
Otis Redding
4/5
I absolutely love Otis Redding. This is not my favorite collection of songs by Otis but it is hard not to like it.
Deep Purple
1/5
Ugh, I like their drummer and some of the riffs but beyond that jeez- I felt like I needed to be in an altered mind state to appreciate.
Kacey Musgraves
2/5
Meh, seemed like a pretty one note kinda album.
De La Soul
4/5
One of my favorite hip-hop albums. They also fell prey to the cutesy interludes.....unfortunately
Eminem
2/5
A few good songs, a lot of sophomoric rhymes and shocking lyrics for the sake of shocking ..
Jurassic 5
3/5
I have listened to Jurassic 5 a little bit but probably never a whole album. I liked the album in general but it really didn't have any real standout songs, beats or rhymes. Probably won't be returning to it over other similar(ish) artists --
Tangerine Dream
1/5
Not a huge fan, but I can see that it was a very forward thinking and groundbreaking release in 1974
Elton John
3/5
I like Elton John, but don't looove Elton John and it isn't something in my normal rotation. I hadn't heard this album front to back before -- I liked it well enough.
Fiona Apple
3/5
Fiona Apple, I liked it! Eclectic mix of style and pace. It was a good change of pace for me.
Grant Lee Buffalo
1/5
Not for me. Mostly just meh.....
Ali Farka Touré
3/5
Pretty decent all the way around but nothing stood out as a great song!
The Beach Boys
3/5
Beyond some of the classics, the beach boys have never really been my thing but this was a good listen.
Joy Division
2/5
Meh, not sure what all the fuss is about -- I wasn't all that intrigued by the album
Elvis Costello
2/5
This album was fine, nothing too special and nothing that jumped out at me as classic Elvis Costello-
John Lennon
1/5
No thanks.
Billy Joel
3/5
Hard not to tap your foot to Billy Joel!
Keith Jarrett
2/5
Yeah, Can't say I have ever listened to a solo jazz piano album. I didn't hate it but I probably also wouldn't come back to very often.
Talking Heads
3/5
I generally like the Talking Heads and this album is likable but not really memorable.
Dexys Midnight Runners
1/5
Meh, ok I guess nothing stood out to me except for the wildly overplayed Come on Eileen
Hookworms
3/5
This album grew on me, not fantastic, but got better as it went along.
Michael Kiwanuka
3/5
Didn't get a chance to listen to the whole Album, but what I did catch -- I liked.
Aretha Franklin
4/5
Really good album!
2/5
Meh, couldn’t really get through it, but some of the songs were fine.
Everything But The Girl
2/5
Background music for me, not unpleasant but not my cup of mead so to speak.
The White Stripes
4/5
Solid Album, good reminder to go back to listen to more!
Beastie Boys
5/5
I listened to this album, a whole lot when it came out and love it every time I hear it.
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
3/5
Didn’t mind this album at all. Has some real toe rappers on there..
Billy Bragg
4/5
I was a bit surprised by how much I liked this album.
Happy Mondays
2/5
This wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either!
Bon Jovi
2/5
One of the first cassettes I purchased with my own money and purchased Young MC’s Stone Cold Rhymin’ album on the same trip! I still listen to Young MC — Bon Jovi, not so much. Still this was a good blast from the past.
Fleetwood Mac
2/5
Jesus, I hope I can get through this. It was fine
R.E.M.
2/5
Just fine, a few decent songs, never been a fan.
Don McLean
1/5
No thanks, beyond the title track— the songs are almost indistinguishable bog standard folk songs that are not my preference.
Moby Grape
1/5
Jeebus, that was a boring ass record.
Beck
2/5
Not my favorite Beck Album -- pretty boring compared to Odelay or Mellow Gold. Just OK
Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
Only real complaint is that my favorite CCR song -- The Midnight Special -- isn't on this album. Good album
Grateful Dead
2/5
Not a huge fan of The GD (or Jammy type bands in general). This was fine -- I liked it more than I thought I would. It certainly helped that this wasn't a live show recording and during a part of their "back to the land" phase.
The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
4/5
I like it, I know some folks think it is a bit preachy but I like conscious hip-hop.
A Tribe Called Quest
5/5
One of my favorite albums from the 90's. For some reason the line, "I want chicken and orange juice, that's whats on my rider" has been in my head since the 90's and I frequently blurt it out at inopportune times to the consternation of my family. And, of course, one of the best Busta guest tracks ever!
Sade
2/5
Overdose of adult contemporary jazz on this one! I know some folks that loove Sade and I normally respect their opinion on music. Not so sure on this one.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
2/5
Pretty good, prett-ay, prett-ay good. Never listened to the whole album, dug on a few songs that I had never heard before.
The Darkness
3/5
Ooh, I have a sweet spot for this kinda fun, almost trashy metal. When this came out - It was a little like hearing a good Cheap Trick song for the first time!
The Monkees
1/5
Sorry, just really couldn't do it. It was and is really hard to take this band seriously.
Michael Jackson
2/5
I mean it is vintage, and I mean vintage MJ -- and Rock with you is a good song but it isn't a spectacular record.
Simon & Garfunkel
1/5
Ugh, this album was on repeat when I was a kid. My parents played it almost constantly (it definitely felt that way). For whatever reason I can’t stand listening to this particular album. I like some of Paul Simon’s solo stuff - just can’t abide the S&G material.
Fatboy Slim
2/5
Pretty good for electronica, not really close to my overall musical taste but fine.
Genesis
2/5
Started out like, wow! this is a Genesis album this is kinda cool. A few songs in, oh, this IS a Genesis album -- that tracks. Overall just ok. Props on the firs song though I liked that one alot.
Derek & The Dominos
1/5
Sounds like a pretty good bar band, outside of Layla -- there didn't really seem to be any really memorable songs -- maybe it was just my mood.
Peter Gabriel
2/5
There are some bangers in here and a few clunkers. I forgot how catchy Big Time was!
Frank Sinatra
3/5
I have a soft spot for ole’ Franky Boy! Pretty standard swing songs but FS makes ‘em sounds better somehow.
Elastica
3/5
I didn't like the "Connection" song when it came out and is still probably one of the weaker saccharine sweet pop songs on the album, but there were some other pretty good songs on this album! I was pleasantly surprised!
The Mamas & The Papas
1/5
Ugh, I have never liked the Mama's and the Papa's. This album is no different.
Lauryn Hill
3/5
Pretty good. Not as good as I remember the critics raving about when it came out but some overall good songs.
Pixies
5/5
I really, really, really like this album.
The Stone Roses
2/5
There is a Stone Roses fan in my house, it isn't me. The music is fine, I heard a nice bass line every now and again but I found this album to be ....flat, it seems like whenever the vocals come in the song just deflates. I wish they would pick a lane -- emo-pop or high energy brit-pop (beause this mid-tempo shit is exhausting, it seems like they are stuck in 2 gear and trying to pass a truck on the freeway. (this was written half-way through the album)
Ok, now that I am all the way through the album -- I liked "shoot you down" the vocals didn't drag down the music and I also thought "Made of Stone" and "I am the Resurrection" were pretty OK.
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
Well, I used to love, love Jimi Hendrix. One of my first CDs was “Are you Experienced?” I purchased a fair number of imports and ephemera from Jimi and thought they were all awesome. Jimi's rendition of "Killing" Floor on a European double CD import is still one of my favorite songs. This album is just fine, a few really good songs but on the whole a little underwhelming.
The Verve
1/5
So far, nothing special. Didn’t really like that symphony song when it originally was released and still don’t. Not much here for me lyrics wise either. Yeah, only occasionally did I notice a change the song, they all seemed pretty similar and boring.
Skepta
2/5
I had heard of Skepta and had heard good things, but I hadn't really heard much Skepta music. There are a few good songs on here, a few just ok, and then a few just bleh songs for my taste.
Hüsker Dü
2/5
Nothing wrong with this album, but not a whole bunch like, really, RIGHT about this album either. I know lots of folks that love Husker DU, I think they are mostly just bland.
Sufjan Stevens
1/5
Ele-fuckin'-vator music (so far). Great musicianship from everybody so far and I know people are really into Sufjan Stevens. Maybe I just need to give it a few listens. After listening to the whole album there are a few bright spots that had me slightly more interested in the album overall but not enough to make me want to listen to any more from Sufjan.
Elliott Smith
1/5
I should have just not listened to this album. I don't think I liked any part of this album -- well it was so blandly inoffensive, I mean almost aggressively bland, I completely lost interest so I probably really only listened to the first two or three songs so at least isn't was keeping my attention throughout.
Jimi Hendrix
3/5
I liked it. I knew most of these songs before listening but not all -- beyond a few hokey lines about hippies and such there wasn't a whole lot to be picky about.
Linkin Park
2/5
I really didn't like this band back in the day. Still don't think they are all that great but better than Limp Bizkit and some of the other Nu Metal bands...
Rocket From The Crypt
3/5
Upon reveal but before listening: oh yeah, I remember this band -- but I don't remember what they sound like.
After listening, yeah I dig it.
The Byrds
1/5
Before listening: Ugh, I hope I can get through this.
Three songs in: No, No, No, I do not approve. Boring, folky, psychedalia
Six songs in: Hell no, did not get better. I don't like the lyrics, the vocals, just no.
Full album: Thankfully, I never have to listen to that ever again.
Janelle Monáe
3/5
Before listening: I have definitely heard some Janelle Monae but don't really have an opinion beyond that I vaguely optimistic abut the listen.
Four songs in: I liked the classical intro and the idea behind the album, the music is sometimes just vaguely poppy soul but with more interesting lyrics.
Nine songs in: Yeah still feel pretty good about the album as a whole but really haven't heard a song yet that I think really stands out
The Jesus And Mary Chain
2/5
First couple of songs, Just ok, nothing spectacular so far.
Full album -- meh, nothing really caught my ear.
Shack
1/5
Pre: Never heard of this band or album.
After a couple of songs I am realizing that I was expecting something way more upbeat, Flogging Molly-like, for some reason. The album cover really fooled me, so far I am absolutely not impressed.
What in the living hell was that modern adult contemporary jazz interlude "Re-instated". This took a turn for the worse quick.
Do not recommend.
Orbital
2/5
Just ok, it quickly melted into background noise and I hardly noticed when the album finished.
Kanye West
2/5
Well, My son is really into hip-hop right now, so car rides have been filled with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, (a little) Kanye, etc.. so I have actually listened to parts of this album more recently than I would have without his influence. We will see how this goes.
Well, there are some good songs on here -- also a lot, alot of just talking and skits........but Slow Jamz is a banger.
...She said she want some Marvin Gaye some Luther Vandross......
The Prodigy
1/5
Not a huge electronic music / dance music fan. The “rapping” / spoken word stuff on this album is terrible but the beats are OK.
Iron Maiden
3/5
Not a huge Iron Maiden fan, but I dig it!
CHIC
2/5
Disco! Not my thing! Good Times is familiar, the rest are forgettable
Liz Phair
2/5
Just fine. Nothing really stood out as too great or too terrible.
Siouxsie And The Banshees
3/5
I like this one, pretty decent jangly guitars.....
R.E.M.
2/5
Not a huge fan, but I listened alll the way through and heard some good stuff.
Beach House
1/5
Absolutely nothing of note to say about this album. I may as well have been listening to Muzak, a white noise generator or hell I don’t even know how to describe. I wish I could give this album “null” stars.
Bebel Gilberto
3/5
This was fine. I liked samba and bossa nova vibe but really didn't find myself overly excited by any of the songs.
Parliament
5/5
Pre: Hell yeah! Parliament on a Friday --- this is going to be a good day.
Yup, still really good.
Lorde
2/5
Pre: I don’t know much about this album, but I have heard of the artist. Not 100% sure I know what to expect.
After: Lorde’s voice is nice but a bit breathy at times. The lyrics aren’t really my thing but I could see how a young person might find more meaning in them than I do. Music is just fine, didn’t really find myself drawn in by much but it was mostly pleasant.
Meh, never heard of them beforehand and will probably never think about them or the album again…
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
3/5
Well, I was a certain I wasn’t gonna like this album, but I was wrong. Parts of it gave me Morphine vibes solid album it I may never listen to it or Nick Cave again. We will see.
Rahul Dev Burman
3/5
I have generally liked the Bollywood style of music as energetic and a good change of pace. This was fine, but I probably won't be revisiting anytime soon.
The Band
2/5
Great, another set of scruffy looking white dudes from the 60's. I don't really remember much about THE BAND except that I think my parents had a few of their albums.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about "Up on Cripple Creek". Nothing much to day about this album. Pretty forgettable, not really what I am into normally.
Dusty Springfield
4/5
I had forgotten which songs Dusty Springfield sang and was very pleasantly surprised by the album.
Flamin' Groovies
2/5
Not great, not too bad. Wasn’t too excited by the vocalist- meh.
Elton John
4/5
I like Elton John and I Iike this album.
Jack White
3/5
Well, I felt like there were too many guitars solos that started off sounding like a bad dj trying to scratch. There were a few good songs, but almost every song had potential and then something fucked it up, a weird drum part or riff or weird guitar solo
Nirvana
4/5
This is still a good album! This album is also a good reminder of how much of the Nirvana sound, to me, is Dave Grohl’s drumming!
Duran Duran
3/5
Definitely felt like a Duran Duran album. Beyond Rio and Hungry like the wolf I doubt that I had heard any of the other songs on the album. Didn’t really excite me or disgust me so Iguessit was ok.
Donovan
1/5
Nope, no thank you. This kind of out of place bongo and zither shit is not my cup o' psychedelic mushroom tea.
Girls Against Boys
3/5
Pretty good pretty good, pretty nice pretty nice
The Specials
4/5
I really like The Specials, this isn’t even the best album from the Specials that I have listened to today! Their first album is 5 stars for me. This one a 4.
U2
2/5
Never really been a fan of U2, I have liked a few songs over the years but have never looked for their music or thought it was all that fantastic. We will see how this goes.
Curtis Mayfield
3/5
Hellzzz yeah! Let’s get it goin’ on a Monday. All right, this was pretty ok over all nothing great beyond the singles we all know!
Incubus
2/5
Never really though about Incubus much at all, beyond a vague feeling that I wouldn't like them -- we will see that happens today.
During: yeah they are ok -- sounds like POD or so many other Nu-metal, alt-metal bands from the 90s, lots of lyrics tailor made for teenagers.
After: Meh, forgot they had a DJ. On the songs that I heard the DJ -- the scratching felt way out of place.
Django Django
1/5
Oh hell no… this sounds like the Beatles but electronica. Hard pass.
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
3/5
I don't think I have ever listened to this front to back. Should be a good one though!
Yes
1/5
You know what, not sure I know much of anything about Yes -- maybe a little proggy? Let's see.....
1st song --- um are we sure this isn't Mannheim Steam roller, oh no can't be there are lyrics.... No thanks.
2nd: Oh, this is different and pretty ok.
3- through the end.......No thanks.
Herbie Hancock
2/5
Um, pretty ok. After about three songs it slipped into the background and it didn't ever grab my attention again.
Wild Beasts
1/5
Nope not for me, some strange -- to me -- vocal choices -- falsetto, etc....
Genesis
1/5
Yeah, no thanks. If my music is gonna tell a story— it is gonna be METAL!!!! And probably the story will be about dragons n’ shit!
Eagles
1/5
Before: Jeez, the downers just keep on coming this week. Maybe this album will be better than I remember.
After: Just a couple songs that I kinda like just because I have heard them a million times throughout my life (but would absolutely never choose to listen to myself) and a couple of snooze fest soft "country" rock.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
4/5
I liked this one, not my favorite jazz album but I will probably add this into my jazz rotation (such as it is).
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
I liked this one, not my favorite jazz album but I will probably add this into my jazz rotation (such as it is).
Paul Simon
3/5
I loathe Simon and Garfunkel. I don’t mind Paul Simon and I liked this album well enough.
Stevie Wonder
5/5
I really, really like this album. I don’t necessarily make an effort to listen to it much anymore but almost every song on this album is gold!
Nightmares On Wax
3/5
Liked this more than expected but probably wont come back to it much
Richard Hawley
2/5
So, I don't know what I was expecting from the album cover and such -- and for all the songs I was able to listen to, I honestly couldn't tell if I liked it or not. It was the strangest thing, I felt like my opinion of a song could swing wildly within the song........IDK man, just weird.
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
2/5
Yikes. Songs were too long and a little too theatrical. Some good musicianship but I wasn't impressed overall.
Beatles
2/5
Ok fine, I will listen to yet another Beatles album, but I don't have to like it.
Yeah, I listened to it. It was OK. I will never in my life make a deliberate choice to listen to a Beatles album on my own -- none of them excite me in any way.
Wilco
2/5
I have never been able to get into Wilco. People love them, I always kinda thought they were milquetoast-y and boring- kinda like if Weezer did an “Unplugged” album. We will see….
Yup, that is my overall take on this album -- good musicians, but boring and milquetoast decisions ruin most of my enjoyment of the music
Cream
2/5
This was one of my first purchased on my own albums -- I was pretty into Eric Clapton, the Byrds, etc.. I have outgrown my affection for 60s -70s Acid Rock / Bluesy Rock like this. I have a soft spot for a few of these songs, but I don't and won't seek out these songs.
The xx
2/5
This was fine..
Black Flag
4/5
Yup, still pretty darn good!
Echo And The Bunnymen
3/5
I didn't get to listen to all of this, but what I was able to listen was solid!
Michael Jackson
4/5
Really don’t like the girl is mine. The idea that Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson are fighting over the same girl is hilarious and absurd. Can’t go wrong with Billie Jean and Thriller though! I can’t not hear Weird Al’s “Eat it” whenever I hear “Beat it”.
R.E.M.
1/5
I have never liked R.E.M. and never will. I do not like college rock.
Iron Butterfly
1/5
Yeah, I remember liking the title track to this when I was a teenager. I think I would need "psychedelic aids" to listen to this album again.
Simple Minds
2/5
Meh, sounds like 80's pop music......
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
I remember seeing Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds @ Lollapalooza a million years ago -- only band I liked less that day was The Boredoms -- maybe a studio (double) album will change my mind.
It was fine, pretty decent Tom Waits like adjacent tunes, but nothing spectacular in my mind.
David Bowie
2/5
Didn't really seem all that "Bowie-y" to me. The songs were some indistinct from one another and they quickly got shoved to the background, not good not bad but also not memorable.
Steve Winwood
1/5
Nope, I couldn't really listen to more than the first song or two. Not my thing.
The Kinks
1/5
I really wanted this to be less like the Beatles and more like their self-titled item (a little more garage rock). I did not like this album and I knew I wasn't gonna like it based on the album cover ----
Nine Inch Nails
4/5
Maybe not my favorite NIN album, but any album that has Hurt on it is going to get some stars from me.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
One of the first albums I purchased. Almost no misses on the album
Portishead
2/5
Meh.
Fugees
4/5
I liked this album alot when it came out -- and I still do.
The Clash
5/5
Love this album -- probably too much.
Buck Owens
2/5
Meh, I understand that this is a seminal album for a certain kind of "hillbilly" music -- the kind you might hear at Bob's Country Bunker on a Saturday night. This just doesn't do it for me, but I do like the sound of the Telecaster.
Einstürzende Neubauten
1/5
So, yeah -- Art is Art -- but not all art is for me. I know people really think highly of this band but I don't see it. On a few songs I could get into the industrial nature of the songs but I couldn't get into it.
PJ Harvey
3/5
I always liked PJ Harvey well enough. This is a pretty good representation of some of her more guitar driven stuff
The White Stripes
4/5
Fuzzy guitar, thick riffs, loud and splashy cymbals..... alot to like here! Still a good album.
David Bowie
3/5
So, I liked this one, but I don't really remember a damn thing about it the next day. Not a note, not a lyric -- nothing, just a general sense that I liked it well enough while it was on and it was shorter than I expected.
Tom Waits
2/5
Live album that sounded way more loungey/jazzy than I anticipated for a Tom Waits album -- no nearly as mournful, raspy or dejected sounding as some of his other stuff. I liked it but it wasn't very memorable.
Bill Evans Trio
3/5
Not too bad, very easy to listen to as background music.
Terence Trent D'Arby
2/5
Better than I expected but not great.
Abdullah Ibrahim
2/5
This was pretty fine, but nothing special!
Rage Against The Machine
5/5
This album is filled with fantastic music, walk to wall. It is a bit unfortunate that they made the same album 3 times in a row. But, this one- chef’s kiss!
Green Day
3/5
I mean, I kinda hate to say this -- this is a pretty good album in my eyes.
Fats Domino
5/5
12 (ish) songs depending who you believe has the canonical track listing and 27 minutes of music. What is this a punk album?
I love Fats Domino and I listened to this like 5 times yesterday.
Kendrick Lamar
4/5
So, my kid is super in Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, the Creator right. So I have heard this album a lot recently (and heard all the backstory about every track). IMO, there are several really really good tracks on here, Swimming Pools (Drank), Sing about me, I’m dying of thirst and Bitch, Don’t Kill my Vibe and then some other pretty ok songs songs and then some forgettable interludes….solid album overall
Roxy Music
1/5
Um, not my favorite. I listened to it through my computer while working and during one of the songs I spend two minutes trying to find out where the construction (or something my recognized as a construction site) noises were coming from. I thought I had some other Firefox tab autoplaying a YT video or something, I was hunting for a few minutes until I realized it was just part of the song -- after I paused it. No thanks.
N.W.A.
4/5
I first listened to this album right around its release maybe 89’. It is still a good rap album and really encapsulates a very specific time in the US and this album needed to happen. I have always preferred Public Enemy and Krs-One style artists that have a more political bent (and waaaay less blatant misogyny).
Moby
2/5
Jesus going from NWA to Moby is like running into a brick wall at 80 mph.
Fine background music, a few more interesting tracks but nothing special. I kept on waiting for something, anything to make a change, a bass drop perhaps, a different BPM? anything....
Slipknot
3/5
Pretty good album, but not great
Ice Cube
4/5
This album has some really good tracks on it and I like the more laid back west coast style on this album -- I also appreciate the lyrics on this one more than previous Ice Cube or NWA albums as they tend to be, overall, a little more mature.
The Chemical Brothers
2/5
Listened to the whole album, never really focused on it and I do believe it may have been one looooong song. Just a meh from me, this has a time and a place but in general not my thing..
Brian Eno
2/5
Absolutely nothing about this album stood out to me at all.
Adele
2/5
Great voice, just ok music
John Martyn
2/5
Not for me. I listened to the entire album, but I couldn't tell you a single thing about any individual song.
Beastie Boys
5/5
Helllzzzz yeah!
Alice In Chains
3/5
Alice in chains was never my favorite band from this era but this is a pretty good album -- If I could I would probably give it more of a 3.5 but it is what it is....
Queen Latifah
2/5
Was not expecting the C+C Music Factory track "Come into my house", also not a great song. Overall not a great album but I respect Queen L as a whole but this one wasn’t great
Alice Cooper
2/5
Two stars only because of the title track, otherwise this is a terrible album
Missy Elliott
2/5
This was just ok, beyond Work it -- they didn't really feel like the Missy Elliot.
Roxy Music
2/5
This was not a great album, there were a few times that the songs could have been written and performed by Flight of the Conchords... just some interesting and at times cheesy arrangements and lyrics..
Paul Revere & The Raiders
2/5
Kinda felt like "The Monkees" but if they were chain smoking and hard-drinking but reformed juvenile delinquents. I liked a few songs -- didn't like many.
Goldfrapp
1/5
Y'all can fuck right off with this. No thanks.
Talking Heads
3/5
Pretty fine album, sounded like the Talking Heads but I really didn't hear any standout songs.
Radiohead
2/5
This was very, very Radiohead to me. Not exactly sure what that means, but I wasn't in love with it but I didn't turn it off either.
Haircut 100
1/5
I was expecting to hate this just by the album cover alone. There were a few songs that I thought were interesting or otherwise of note, but in general it sounded like a weird cross of Kenny G / Gloria Estefan and Flock of Seagulls or Duran Duran......
Simon & Garfunkel
1/5
I have PTSD from my parents listening to, in my mind, waaaaay too much S&G while I was growing up. I grew to loathe Feelin' Groovy in particular (I know that particular song isn't on this album -- but still).
After listening -- I found "Save the life of my child" to be the most interesting song on the album. I also know remember that I loathe "A hazy shade of winter" and continue to be neutral about "Mrs. Robinson". I absolutely will not return to this album.
Norah Jones
2/5
Norah Jones has a fantastic voice, I would just prefer she used it more like Billie Holliday as opposed to her diluted, dishwater almost jazz, almost well lots of things. This album is not for me.
Nick Drake
1/5
Boring, just bog standard boring.
Stan Getz
3/5
Pretty fine jazz album (very representative of the genre as they say), not outstanding but not offensive. I probably listen to it again but it was fine.
Boston
2/5
This album is by a band named Boston.
Silver Jews
2/5
A very, very faded and watered down copy of Lou Reed. The music was fine, the lyrics weren't anything to write home about.
Bob Dylan
1/5
I really am not a fan of Dylan's voice. Everything else is fine, but just his voice seems like a parody --- of his own voice.
Johnny Cash
4/5
This is a really good album that I have listened to a fair amount over the years, but doesn't include probably any of my top 7-10 Johnny Cash songs. He covers Long Back Veil and while I like it more than the original -- The Chieftains definitely hold top spot for my favorite cover (along with Tennessee Waltz -- but I digress).
Echo And The Bunnymen
2/5
Not really my jam.
The Boo Radleys
2/5
I am not really fan overall. The vocalist(s) washes out the overall sounds by being mostly too either monotone or subtle/breathy/thin. In my opinion band needs a different vocal sound to be a complete band. Sounds like Oasis to me— which is not a compliment. Best song that I can remember “Lazarus” but only the parts without singing…
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
3/5
I generally liked this album, but as it went on the music started to fade into the background as a generally enjoyable but unremarkable backdrop to my workday. I was mostly introduced to music from India / Pakistan through classic Bollywood music and movies and I find album to be a welcome addition to my overall musical map but I may not make too may trips back here over time.
Blur
3/5
I am enjoying this album more than I thought I would. Not a worldbeater but solid.
Nas
3/5
Didn’t really listen to a while bunch of Nas back in the day. This was a relatively good album. I understand that it really influenced a lot of East Coast rappers and still does.
Sly & The Family Stone
4/5
This was definitely a Sly and the Family Stone Album —- and I liked it. Every now and again I would think “who sampled that?, I know I have heard that snippet somewhere else!”
Tina Turner
3/5
This is so, so very 80’s!!! Beyond the hits there are some huge and I mean huge misses…..The first 30 seconds of the Al Green cover “let’s stay together”. I thought this might be my favorite song and cover on the album — then the 80’s took over and by the end of the song, I was resolved that I would never listen to that cover ever again. But overall -- I mean it is still Tina Turner
Buffalo Springfield
1/5
The main refrain / lick / riff on Mr. Soul sounds like a watered down (I can't get no) Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. This album, this band, just not for me. I wanted to like the horns and such on "Good Time Boy" but the overall feel was a very week imitation of Otis Redding....... The horns sounded great it was just the rest of the that was weak.
Joni Mitchell
2/5
I don't know about this. I haven't really ever sought out Joni Mitchell music and I probably won't after listening to this album. It was fine, not really to my taste -- I think I may have liked her take on a jazz song at the end the most?
Beck
3/5
It was fine, felt a little bland in the grand scheme of things.
The Byrds
1/5
I just don’t like this decade and style of music. Just not for me.
Wu-Tang Clan
5/5
This is probably one of the best hip-hop albums around, period.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
I fell like I should like Nick Cave more. His music has alot of markers of things that I generally like. For whatever reason I just can't get into his music. I even saw him and the bad seeds live (at Lollapalooza but still) and I couldn't get into it.
Pixies
3/5
Not my favorites Pixies album by a long shot -- but still fine.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
2/5
Why must y’all torment me with so much Neil Young?
--This was better than some other albums but all Neil Young has a low ceiling for me.
John Lee Hooker
3/5
The song with Carlos Santana was interesting, but overall this is was a bit underwhelming (but it is still John Lee Hooker so it can’t be all bad).
Muddy Waters
4/5
This was really good, not like fantastic but I would come back to this again.
Gotan Project
2/5
This is all pretty decent music. First impression was that it all sounded like "James Bond Background Music" - Slightly jazzy, modern, a little exotic.
Isaac Hayes
3/5
Nothing incredible in n this album but also nothing bad.
Thelonious Monk
3/5
I am not a huge fan of jazz, but liked this
Miles Davis
2/5
This type of fusion jazz is probably my least favorite overall but I could still get into portions of if. “Miles runs the voodoo down” was probably my favorite front to back but there were pieces of ever track that I liked but it just spent to much fiddlin’ about for my taste.
Radiohead
2/5
Pretty OK. But, I have forgotten what most of it sounded like already.
The Young Gods
3/5
I liked this alot more than I thought I was going to -- like maybe a French Ministry ---
The Allman Brothers Band
3/5
Pretty good, I am not a huge Allman Brothers fan but I was definitely able to listen to this with some enjoyment
R.E.M.
2/5
Inoffensive but not interesting to me. I understand that REM has lots of fans and has influenced many people with their music. I don’t happen to be one of them.
New Order
2/5
Um, not really ever been a New Order fan and this album didn’t change my mind.
Machito
4/5
Maybe this review is also a reflection of the mood I was in, but I really liked this one. I am adding to my "summer deck beer" playlist!
Sarah Vaughan
2/5
Just OK, Sarah has a pretty good voice -- but I wasn't really impressed by anything else about the record.
Radiohead
2/5
IDK, I might like it more with repetition, but it won’t crack the rotation to get those spins. Pleasant and ethereal at times and then boring and drawn out at others..
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
I didn't mind this and found it more listenable than Radiohead!
Brian Wilson
2/5
Oddly auspicious to get this album the day after BW dies. I don't really care for this record, I understand there is history behind this album and all but I really couldn't get into it.
Joni Mitchell
2/5
This just really isn't in my wheelhouse at all. Singer/Song writer as a genre isn't for me and pair that with an album that feels like the same(ish) song 10 times in a row ---no thanks.
Cocteau Twins
1/5
It was very hard to get all the way through this one.
Sonic Youth
4/5
I had forgotten how much I liked this album and Sonic Youth!
Ramblin' Jack Elliott
2/5
This was not great. I am not sure how it got on the list, it just sounds like somebody tryin' to be somebody else.
Snoop Dogg
4/5
Ah, the memories! This album still stands up.
The Rolling Stones
3/5
I am not a huge fan of the Rolling Stones. I think this may have been the first time listening to this entire album. I thought it was fine.
Emmylou Harris
3/5
I thought some of these songs were excellent and then several others that were just fine.
The Rolling Stones
1/5
Absolutely the F*ck not!
Song listing:
1.)Paint it Black -- decent mostly for nostalgia -- in my youth I am pretty sure I thought this was a Doors song
2.) Stupid Girl -- Sophomoric and stupidly pedantic lyrics no real tune
3.)Lady Jane -- probably even more ridiculous lyrics than previous song and they used "troth" more than once -- no wonder everybody called them posh boys
4.)Under my Thumb -- stupid misogynistic leaning lyrics -- Social Distortion also covered this song and beyond the lyrics their cover is x1000 better.
Doncha bother me and the rest of the songs --- really blended together except for It's Not Easy -- probably the most trite lyrics on the whole album and that is saying something.
David Bowie
3/5
Nothing wrong with the album just not too much that was compelling either!
Beck
3/5
This is fine, nothing special in my mind but a pleasant enough listening experience.
Count Basie & His Orchestra
4/5
This was alot of fun. I don't think I can listen to Count Basie all day everyday, but this was top notch and a mushroom cloud album cover, whaat!!
The Byrds
2/5
This is not my favorite time period and genre of music.
First impression: It all sounds like the same bland hippy-ish rock from the late 60's to mid 70's. Lots of bland lyrics (yes even the Carole King co-written song) about generic enlightenment or anti-establishment vibes.
After full listen: first impression mostly stands up -- there is a little more variation, a little country in there and early synth touches but still a big no for me.
Funkadelic
4/5
I didn't get to listen to all of this in order but pretty good stuff -- can't go too wrong with Funkadelic!
N.E.R.D
1/5
There was definitely some potential, but not realized.
The Cure
3/5
Not a bad album at all, it definitely has a mood and sticks to it.
Black Sabbath
4/5
Lots to like on this album and it was a good time to get it after so many just ok or terrible albums.
Primal Scream
1/5
This is definitely in the "I'll pass" column for me. I heard glimpses of something interesting in a several songs but for the most part it was very bland and non-descript. For a band with such a solid name -- the music is just milquetoast.
1/5
Three tracks, 37 minutes, a slow crescendo fade in of nature sounds on the first track..... this better be doom metal or I am out of here (I know Yes isn't Doom Metal -- but a boy can dream right!)
This is why I don't listen to Yes, this sounds like that Spinal Tap song where the tiny Stonehenge lowered onto the stage but this is a sincere effort to make thoughtful music. I know people love this ish', there are all good musicians -- just not my speed.
Barry Adamson
2/5
Gives me Nick Cave and the bad seeds vibes... was ok not great.
Janis Joplin
3/5
I like Janis Joplin, her voice is pretty special, I don’t normally seek out JJ but I enjoy it whenever it appears.
Oasis
1/5
I detest OASIS, I can't get over them -- and they certainly can't get over themselves. This is going to be a hard listen today.
Bob Dylan
2/5
Ya know, I really can't get behind Bob Dylan either, his voice is a little off-putting and I don't find the music or the lyrics compelling.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
If I could hear this album for the first time, every time it would probably be a guaranteed 4-5, but this album, like many in the early 70's has elements I am not a huge fan of.... extraneous mandolin, songs that go on too long, etc.. When I was 17 this would have gotten a 5 for sure, at 35 I would have given a 1. Now I give it a 4, mostly for the drums on "When the Levee Breaks" --- those are boss..
Slayer
5/5
While "Seasons In the Abyss" is my favorite Slayer album -- this is a close, I mean close second.
Buzzcocks
3/5
This was fine, I never really listened to the Buzzcocks much, nothing stood out as fantastic!
The Magnetic Fields
1/5
After a quick look at the track listing, not sure I am going to make it through all these songs..... Update -- I did not make it through all the songs.
Judas Priest
4/5
OK, so I never really got into Judas Priest when I was really into metal, I mean I liked the idea them but never really listened to them (beyond "Breaking the Law" mostly of course because of Beavis and Butthead), but after giving this listen now -- this is boss! So far no real misses, some definite standouts -- but no duds either.....
Julian Cope
2/5
The White Stripes
4/5
I remember liking this album more when it came out. Still has some great songs on it though.
Peter Frampton
3/5
I was pleasantly surprised by this album. If I could give it a 3.5, I would. A lot of good stuff here (but I probably won't listen to it ever again).
Paul Weller
2/5
Some ok songs, one or two songs that caught my ear and then more than one clunker….
The Stooges
4/5
I like the Stooges (and this album). For some reason, I don't really ever actually seek out their music -- I probably should!
Steely Dan
2/5
YAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCHHHHHHTTTTTTT ROCK!
Wilco
2/5
boring.....just boring.....
The Thrills
2/5
Never heard of this band before....from the cover photo -- they all look insufferable in their own way.
Lead singer is waaaay tooo "breathy" for me. The music is fine but forgettable.
Amy Winehouse
3/5
This was good but didn't have the same impact or polish as her later album. Still a solid listen.
Joni Mitchell
2/5
This just isn't in my wheelhouse for music.
Goldie
1/5
Definitely not my jam, I am more of a fan of Massive Attack / Tricky and sometimes Lords of Acid electronic music and beats. This was just kinda boring.
Pearl Jam
2/5
I never owned a Pearl Jam album when they were uber popular and certainly don't seek out their music currently. I don't really understand why people loved them so, so much. There are a few songs on this album that are worth a listen, the rest are pretty forgettable for me.
Elvis Presley
2/5
Ya know, I really didn't love this. I actually thought I would like it. But, I mean I really didn't......
Iggy Pop
3/5
This was a pretty solid album but I really didn't hear any standouts beyond Lust for life (and the real standout is the beaming photo of iggy on the album cover!).
Beatles
3/5
Didn't I already do this one.......? Well, I can see why people call it the best Beatles album, which isn't saying much coming from me.
Sepultura
4/5
Chaos A.D. is probably my favorite Sepultura album, but this is a close second! I had forgotten about all the line-up changes that were to come shortly after this record...
Earth, Wind & Fire
3/5
I liked this well enough, but nothing really jumped out at me.
Dire Straits
3/5
Yeah, I hate to admit it but "So Far Away" is a really, really good song. There are some other pretty of songs on here but not like "So Far Away".
Thundercat
3/5
Um, I will give this a three. There was some good stuff on here but also some pretty esoteric pieces that didn't always hit the mark for me. If I could I would give it a 2.5
The Shamen
1/5
No thanks, this was just bland bog standard rave music coupled with stock lyrics and "rapping" at times.......Would much rather listen to Lords of Acid!
Pantera
4/5
I really liked this when it came out, but oddly really never came back to it over the years. This was a good listen for me.
Massive Attack
3/5
I thought this was just fine, nothing too special.
Dolly Parton
3/5
In general I liked bits and pieces of it and I do like Dolly's voice but a good piece of it just kinda went in one ear and out the other. If the instrumentation had been a little more dynamic I probably would have liked it more....
The Saints
3/5
I have a vague recollection of this band from the before times, but certainly didn't really know much of their music. I found this pretty fine overall...
Screaming Trees
1/5
Nope, don't like it. not really at all..
Neil Young
2/5
I just don't like his voice. I can't get past it..Using the Flugelhorn on the title track was kinda boss though....
Depeche Mode
3/5
I was pleasantly surprised by this album, mostly because I had low expectations (I thought I was going to hate it). I would really like to give it more like a 2.5 but a 3 works.
Radiohead
2/5
Better than most Radiohead albums but still not great.
Aerosmith
1/5
Best thing about this album is Walk this Way (when they performed it with Run DMC) so maybe there really isn't anything at all on this album..
Big Ten Inch Record is a ridiculously stupid song and I believe I lost IQ points listening to it.
Guided By Voices
2/5
I remember not being all that enamored with GBV in the 90's when they got "big". This album is an interesting mix of songs and I tend to be fine with the lo-fi sensibility but I don't think I will be coming back to this albums....
k.d. lang
2/5
There are elements to this album that I liked, K.D.'s voice had some really nice tones and played well over the music. The vibe overall was relaxing and layered. All that being said, this really isn't my jam but I can understand why people like it.
Radiohead
2/5
a little sub-par for me, not all that listenable but I did make it through the album without saying, "Jesus, what is that" If I could give it a 1.5 I would.
Beatles
2/5
So, this would be a better album with about 1/3 to 1/2 the songs. There are like 3-4 maybe 5 songs on that I like enough to maybe come back and listen to again purposefully -- although I know I won't because I don't really dig the Beatles.....
The Temptations
4/5
Hell Yes!!! Finally an album I can get behind! Not their best album but I definitely liked this better than yet another overrated 70’s rock or folk act.
Dinosaur Jr.
3/5
I only knew hits back in the day, but I always liked the fuzz on Dino Jr albums. This album certainly brought the fuzz! I think I liked Let it Ride or Don't the most, there were a few clunkers too. Pretty solid overall
Lynyrd Skynyrd
4/5
I am not a "Play some SKYYYYNYRDDDDDDDDDDD" fan. But this is a good album pretty solid all the way through.
Ute Lemper
1/5
Um, hard pass. After listening to the first song all the way through, I had to skip through the rest. Ute's voice was a bright spot but everything else was not.
Laibach
4/5
So, I am diggin' this. Seems a little like Rammstein meets 80's era soundtrack -- which is apparently in my wheelhouse today.
Emmylou Harris
2/5
Not my favorite I actually didn't get a chance to listen all the way through. A couple songs into the Emmylou album I found out it was the anniversary of Al Green's release of "I'm Still in Love with you" from 1972 so I basically listened to Al Green all day......
Stan Getz
3/5
Yeah, pretty good stuff, probably won't listen to it again -- but it was enjoyable.....
Al Green
5/5
"Let's Stay Together" was my first dance with my spouse at our wedding, and I come back to the album time and again. A friend recently called Al Green - hot tub music - and I agree, but it is also road-trip music, lazy Sunday music, Friday Night Dancin' Music and everything else in between.
Butthole Surfers
3/5
I have a soft spot for the surfers..... I just can't help it. Discordant / fuzztastic guitars: Check! Obtuse or outlandish lyrics: check! ethereal overlays: check! mixing in loops or samples: check!
sometime sounds like they just got tired of playing and stop mid-song and just said fuck it its done: check!
For some reason things that might annoy me from other bands -- I just like with the Surfers...... I don't know why.
All that being said. This album isn't my favorite from them....... but still better than many.
Fever Ray
1/5
No thanks, I listened to the first couple of tracks and then couldn't get through the rest.....automatic 1 star.
The Beta Band
2/5
I almost liked alot of these songs, but most of these songs were just a beat or degree off somehow....
Queen
3/5
This album was fine. It is certainly not VINTAGE Queen by any stretch of the imagination, did any of these songs make it onto any of their greatest hits albums. It is almost like this album has -all- the filler songs for most of their albums, still pretty good songs but not also not alot of standouts...
Johnny Cash
4/5
It is really hard to dislike a Johnny Cash album, this one is pretty good -- his voice fits so many of these songs so well. I wasn't as enamored with some of them as others but still "Hurt" gets top billing for hits but anything can make a Simon and Garfunkel song tolerable is aces is my book!
The Dictators
2/5
There were a few good ones on here, but mostly forgettable....
The Undertones
2/5
just boring.. the two blokes on the album cover look like kids from school that I would have avoided.....
Eagles
1/5
No thanks, like I would like to pay to never have to listen to the Eagles again.
Ramones
3/5
This is a pretty good album, I would probably give it more like a 3.5 if I could.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
There is a whole bunch to like on this album!
Bee Gees
1/5
I have never in my life intentionally listened to a Bee Gees song, let alone album.
I will never listen to this album again. This is what hubris, cocaine and ludes get you......
50 Cent
3/5
This has some certified bangers, but also its fair share of whiffs…. I am teetering between a 3 and 4 and I wish I could give it a 3.5
D'Angelo
5/5
This and Maxwell's Urban Hang suite are fantastic neo-soul albums. I am not always in the right frame of mind for this album, but damn, it is good.
AC/DC
5/5
I mean if there is one AC/DC to get a 5 star rating it is "Back in Black" and maybe "The Razors Edge"....
Bee Gees
1/5
Another non-disco Bee Gees Album, jeee-bus! The best about this album is that I will never have to listen to it ever again. Second best thing about this album -- the cover. So boring.
The Gun Club
3/5
This was an unexpected album for me. It took me a while to come around to it but I like the bluesy / punk nature. Not fantastic but pretty ok! I will put this band in rotation.
Jazmine Sullivan
2/5
This was pretty ok, nothing special R&B to me.
Faust
1/5
Um, no.
