This is the first time I have listened to the full Brothers In Arms album, a bit of legendary record amongst rock fans. I've seen plenty of lists of best songs ever with Brothers In Arms and Money For Nothing taking two top places. And those songs are undeniably great. Amazing guitars, great flow, top shelf riffs. The thing is that the rest of the album is just a bit above average and I don't really think Mark Knopfler is the greatest singer ever. If this record would be just few songs, adding Walk of Life and maybe So Far Away, it's easily somewhere at the top. Instead, it's very solid, but largely forgettable.
