I know this album very well. It came out in our second year of college and was constantly on play for years. Our friend Dylan is a massive fan of Chvrches and would have them playing constantly. They played at Boston Calling and he sang every word to every song. The people around us did not like Dylan as much as Lauren. The album opens with its biggest hit. "Mother We Share" is an amazing song. The song samples M83, who wrote one of my favorite albums. "We Sink" also slaps. The album slows down a little for a while here. I don't like the next few songs as much. "Under The Tide" picks me back up. "Recover" is another song that Dylan played constantly. It's good. The underlying synth tracks have a lot of M83 in them. "Lungs" has fun vocals. I like Chvrches sound, but it does get a little old for me by the end of the album. There are awesome songs on here, but I spend about as much time wanting to turn it down a little as I do wanting to turn it up. The best songs are the first two. It's pushing an 8, but I don't think it quite makes it there. 7/10
