Little Earthquakes
Tori Amos

Crucify is a killer opener with its piano hooks and insistent drum beat. The piano is weaved through all of this, but some of the best is in Precious Things where it's layered with guitars and a healthy dose of female rage. There's a dissonance to it that keeps you on edge. Winter is a dramatic ballad that tries to walk the line between epic and Disney movie and doesn't quite manage it. The next 3-4 songs are also a bit too musical theater for me. The a capella Me and a Gun is as uncomfortable to listen to as it's supposed to be. Overall, up and down, had it kept the momentum from the first four tracks this would be a winner. Crucify and Precious Things are good ones though.
