An album that was meant to be all hits. Does it succeed? It doesn't really matter - everything sounds good and the three song run from Thriller through Billie Jean is as good as it gets. The sound of the bass sets a high water mark, especially pulsating on the title track and megahit Billie Jean, but present almost everywhere. If you're not moving at least one part of your body I don't know what to tell you. The slower stuff is good too, especially Human Nature and The Lady in My Life. Surely part of the pop music canon.
