Big album, which teased and ultimately promised me more than it delivered. Lots of different genres provide influence here, and there's diversity in terms of tempo and overall vibes. I did like the funk sound on tracks like Housequake. The chilled out ballad Slow Love works for me and my favorite track on the second half was probably The Cross. Some of the lyrical themes are a bit dated (eg, Hot Thing). Maybe at nearly 90 minutes long it's just too dense to absorb quickly, but I'm left wanting more.
