It's a cliche, because everything obviously is, but it's very much of it's time. The 80's in music especially pop is such a sound set in time and place. If in the right mind for 80's pop then let's hear it, if not turn it off now. This falls straight into that. Appreciate what she does as she does it her own way, but those 80s sounds. Her vocals sometimes feel unique and interesting, and sometimes (even at the same time) odd and enoying. 3 star - it's just in that middle ground for me, sometimes I want to hear it/ sometimes switch off. Expect on further listens today, -1 for it getting a bit shit in the middle whatever my mood. And strangly I find that *proper middle* englishness of it all a bit excluding and alienating, and I'm English since forever. 2 Stars - very disappointed.
