Much more downbeat and minimal than I expected. There's an intimate feeling to the production and it sounds fresh and world-music inspired at times. Beautiful voice too. Cranes in the Sky starts with a breakbeat and meanders along, synths and bass adding to the layered sound. Then on Mad, a duet with Lil Wayne, the beat is even more deconstructed but the effect is surprisingly pretty. Later, I like Borderline with an old school sounding piano, and Don't Wish Me Well has a cool repetitive synth melody - maybe my favourite track on the album.
