It's one of those albums that make you wonder why they exist. What is this exactly? On the scale of Britpop this seems to be the opposite end of The Verve which I listened to a few days ago. The Verve combined all the good things about Britpop and left out the bad. It seems like I now know where these leftovers went. Did the band actually enjoy this? And why does a so-called "superband" make such dull music? Questions I will never know the answer to, and I don't really mind. This is a 1 or 2 for me but I'll round up just because of Simonon's melodic and syncopated bass lines which I like. My next album is going to be #200, I hope it will be a good one.
