Music taste is very subjective, with us all influenced by the characteristics that make us an individual. For every album on here, there will be someone who loves it and someone who hates it. Critics however seem to be in general more aligned to a collective consciousness , and certain acts are more lauded, maybe because they are good and I just don’t understand? Know it’s almost blasphemy but I just don’t get the love in for Pink Floyd. I’ve tried, because have always been told how good they are,I really have tried from multiple angles, the big album, the 1st album the later ones and no I just don’t get it personally , just leaves me cold asking and… So I entered this with some trepidation. The solo album from the guy who left because of a mental breakdown. And I got and felt exactly what I expected. I don’t ever want or need to hear this again. I found it a real drag to get through, after 2 tracks had to turn off and came back later, and then the 3rd track made me want to switch straight off again, what whimsical bs. Just really not my thing, but ok on Wiki look at all those top lists it’s on, again I must not be intellectual enough to get it, maybe?? Do think it’s a case of the critic knowing what happened to this guy so it’s the “enlightened work” of a person with mental health issues. A very questionable view, insight into his condition yes, enlightened genius? To me it’s like a supposedly renowned chef serving up a tin of dog food, it’s still just dog food. The lyrical content isn’t exactly exacting, and musically it’s somewhat basic without any interest, nothing wrong with simple lyrics and basic instrumentation, some of my favourite music is both, but what I consider interesting. Oh what do I know well I just don’t care. It’s finished now so can stop writing to distract myself 1 Star
