After starting this one I went to look at my Last.fm and lo and behold I had heard the record before. However I had zero memory of it. I listened to it when I did the NME 500 best albums. This record is one of the reasons why I always am a little hesitant about the ratings. One listen is rarely enough to properly judge an album. Further to that the way you listen to a record is important. Given what Last.fm told me I most likely listened to this on a small Bluetooth speaker. This time I played it on a proper sound system. This time I was blown away by the record. Really well recorded. Really well produced and mastered. Really interesting approach to sound and the songs. From the opening track to the end it had me hooked and excited for what came next. So glad someone put this on the list or I would still be missing out. Also makes me think about other records I was indifferent to and what another exposure or tweaks to listening environment would bring.
