A little more pleasant to listen to than his earlier work, but that comes at the cost of sounding a lot more cliché. I didn't really enjoy his earlier albums, but they had their own distinct sound to them. This album sounds like a knock off of any number of bands combining rock, funk and soul at the time. Looking at the wikipedia-page and other sites, this doesn't seem to be a very influential album of his either. I think it was a boring listen, not one I'd return to.
