Rio
Duran Duran

The 80s was such a great time to be alive and into music. Duran Duran were the perfect synthpop foursome. Roger Taylor’s drums were epic, Nick Rhodes keyboards were the glue that held it all together and made it unique, Simon Le Bon’s vocals were strong and he was the perfect frontman, Andy Taylor’s guitar and John Taylor’s bass were so complimentary to the rest of the band. So many great hits, Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, Save a Prayer, made famous by MTV (remember when they actually played music videos), but the rest of the album is great too. I had this album on vinyl and wore it out, got it on cassette and wore it out too. Knew all of the songs by heart. Still do! Maybe it’s just nostalgia or maybe it is still great, either way It will always be a favorite for me. And who didn’t love the incredible cover art from Patrick Nagel. His sharp edges and use of color to highlight a beautiful woman was second to none!
