Smash
The Offspring

"Nitro (Youth Energy)" is a great start. There's nothing complicated about this. You'll have your whiny 90s punk for dinner and you'll like it. WHEN I GO DRIVING I STAY IN MY LANE. I listened to this song so much in High School. Offspring were high on the roster on my 120GB iPod classic. If I close my eyes I can see the wintery suburbs passing by through the school bus window. "Come Out and Play" is iconic. The little riff near the beginning (you know the one) is so great. "Self Esteem" is the other big hit from the record. It's probably one of the first Offspring songs I heard after "Pretty Fly For a White Guy". "What Happened to You" is an extremely "The Offspring" song. The bouncy guitar and the harmonies are great. I don't know why I love Bryan Holland's voice so much. My logical brain can see that his singing is annoying and whiny, but my 90s/00s punk lizard brain loves it. It isn't art, but it sure is fun. 8/10
