Reading about Nina Simone, I came across a quote by Maya Angelou regarding Ms Simone that sums up my feelings better than I ever could: "few who have met her music or glimpsed her soul react with moderation." Simone's vocals and the instrumentation here could draw blood from a stone. Simone's control over her vocals is something to be in awe of, she takes lines and elevates them in a way that just floors me. I was reading the titles of each track before a listen and thought What More Can I Say? would be the same song as performed by the Notations, was a little disappointed when it wasn't but oh my days this song absolutely floored me. There are no skips on here and the highlights absolutely levelled me, what a joy. Highlights: What More Can I Say?, That's All I Ask, Break Down and Let It All Out, Wild Is the Wind
