Kanye WestDay 1: A classic that I have never listened the full way through. For context, I have been listening to Kanye2049 a lot this past week, and it's wonderful, so it is nice to listen to some originals I've never heard. as for songs i havent heard: - spaceship is good - new workout plan is the goofiest shit - slow jamz is fun - SCHOOL SPIRIT! wow, I didn't know 'Good life' takes a line from this song. -lil jimmy skit is... an absurd critique of school and degrees but funny songs i have heard: - jesus walks bridge is amazing - all falls down is a longtime favorite - through the wire is amazing - family buisness is so sweet. - last call is good this is an album that, like in the pitchfork review of Ye, shows a Kanye that kanye isn't anymore, so far from who he became at his height and his descent into today. It's hard to explain. It's like the beatles, if you make an album that changes the trajectory of music, listening to it with the context of today makes it sound just very good average, when it defined the direction everyone else copied / attempted. (and like the beatles, maybe a biiit overrated...) and maybe 8-10 more songs than necessary lol
