Popular Reviews

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis

Wow. Absolutely loved this album. I'm not a massive jazz fanboy, but this modal jazz stuff really gets me going. I love how all of the instruments feel like individuals talking to each other, each one saying something unique yet still talking about the same stuff. This is what I want when I want jazz. True Feelings: 5/5

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra

Extra AF. Good album with a ton of interesting sounds and ideas. But man, it feels like Pink Floyd got bedazzled and thrown onstage at broadway. Overall enjoyable though, so don't get me wrong. True feelings: 3.6/5

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon

A fun album, lots of interesting tunes and sounds. Doesn't take itself to seriously, a good listen that I have no disagreements with. Grooves and can get down too, easy listening, easy dancing. Paul Simon is a music man. True feeling: 3.8/5

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Jan 14 2021

Good 60's rock album, some singular great tracks and a good overall feel of solid 60's rock.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Jan 15 2021

Don't know a lot about the Beatles, but this is a good album, knew 1 or 2 songs, but overall it has some great melodies and interesting grooves. Solid but nothing spectacular.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jan 18 2021

Bittersweet Symphony is one of those 5/5 songs, but the rest of the album really fell flat. It isn't terrible, but I was very disappointed to hear the rest of the album that Bittersweet is on. Nothing of note musically, but not a train wreck either. True Feelings: 3/5

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Jan 19 2021

Opening and closing tracks are A+, feels like some force of nature. The album as a whole is eclectic and groovy, rockin' and thoughtful. Was a great listen and makes me want to hear a little more from Funkadelic, but not earth-shattering as a whole. "Maggot Brain" and "Wars of Armageddon" tracks are almost 5/5 tracks. True Feelings: 3.7/5

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Jan 20 2021

Some good blues licks and a few memorable tracks to an otherwise unmemorable album. I didn't hate it, not at all, but felt like the 2 songs, "Bartering Lines" and "Shakedown on 9th Street" are the only tracks I truly enjoyed entirely. True Feelings: 2.5/5

Jan 21 2021

Awesome electronic album, not sure the exact genre, I guess Euro house? or rave? Either way it's a fantastic album with great repeating rhythms and very slow progressions. Very long tracks with a lot going on overall, but it's entrancing. True Feeling: 4.1/5

Low-Life by New Order
Jan 22 2021

This feels pure 80's. It's a good album, very pop-rock, slightly punk. A near danceable album that makes me think of what the 80's must have felt like to those who lived through it. Not necessarily something I'll be coming back to, but a good listen regardless. True feeling: 2.8/5

Forever Changes by Love
Jan 23 2021

Dreamscape 60's, a mostly light-hearted trip rock experience. Overall a great listen, but sometimes just feels like it's missing something I can't put my finger on. A lot of 60's music I feel is on this list, I'd say this ranks among others of the decades, somewhere in the middle of the pack. True feeling: 3.3/5

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Jan 25 2021

Honestly, didn't care at all for this album. A few interesting pieces, some melodies and riffs I enjoyed, but overall very forgettable. I never listened to Alice Cooper before, and have very little desire to now. I hear he is a cool guy though, so good on him. True feelings: 1.3/5
