In The Wee Small Hours by Frank Sinatra
Mar 03 2025

A melancholic yet beautiful album, which impact as an idea of the art form has to be admired. Most of all the motive in "What is this thing called love" is one of a devistating mystique you rarely get today.

Dookie by Green Day
Mar 04 2025

You can really see how this was the pivotal album to spark pop punk, as it doesn't regard the original punk spirit at all, but instead lends its eyes at catchy melodies and high energy bangers. The dynamic builds and pauses before the chorous hits is frequently used to good effect, as on "When I come around".

Cloud Nine by The Temptations

This was much more colourful than I expected it to be. I only knew "My girl" by them and that is such a sweet song. Those are here aswell. "Love is a hurtin' thing" for instance. But there is much more. The vocalists had such vastly different voices. Melvin Franklin's bass vocals were so soulful. It's wonderful. Paul Williams on their wonderful cover of "Hey girl" is fantastic aswell and honestly he is more fitting for the radio. But most of all the versatility within the group that's shown especially on the title track is brilliant. I also enjoyed that it is an obvious drug song but anyway. A very good album.
