Urban Hymns by The Verve

Very interesting Album! A few hits which are nothing to be disliked (especially with its recording quality). The Melodic lines happening on the background (Example "One Day") play really well with the harmonization of the songs. Creates very cool build ups ! "The rolling people" is a really good song, my favourite! Reminds me of Pearl Jam without sounding like a copy. Overall I Think it should be 5 stars! Personally not what I will be listening a lot but worth 5 stars.

Here, My Dear by Marvin Gaye
Feb 11 2021

Very smooth and light. A lot of "Romance/Flirt" vibes going on, but mainly it has a quite nice groove of a "low pace" funk that you can relax to. The voice blends well with the band style with some extra "talking lyrics" every now and again, which adds to the vibe. Clearly worth 5 stars but not something I really listen too much, hence 4 stars for me.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Feb 12 2021

Quite dark, Goth and Punky. Value for the electronic and distorted voice/band in 1979. Not my cup of tea though.

Birth Of The Cool by Miles Davis
Feb 16 2021

Jazz ! I quite enjoy it, But I feel like this sort of songs need the right atmosphere and place, otherwise it is music for musicians or "elevator/Lift music", which is a waste for the latter. In short, full of flavours and a good happy loose feeling / freedom going on. 4 stars

Madman Across The Water by Elton John
Feb 17 2021

Good pop Songs, Quite interesting Piano. Not my kind of vibe but I can't deny it is a good album. 3 stars though

Elastica by Elastica
Feb 19 2021

Feel like something I would enjoy live.. Simple and enjoyable for me.. Recording, production and finishing are the things that this album doesn't score higher, but I believe it is the purpose of the band, simple rock. Nothing wrong with it, But I will score as average to be fair with other bands too - 3 stars

Actually by Pet Shop Boys
Feb 22 2021

I feel like in 2010 + we have so many bands like that ! Obviously there is a huge gap in terms of production technology but some songs for me sounds so much like so many bands that got huge "recently". I do feel like they are an influence for the VST bands. Sounds upbeat but not just "happy", I like the sound choices and production a lot. I like the vibe and will give 4 stars !

Dare! by The Human League
Feb 25 2021

I can have a good time if I am high or drunk listening to this in a party xD! The fake instruments are very funny but 1981.. Quite progressive I guess! Also the "Don't You Want Me" chorus is a hit, haha! 3 stars.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Mar 02 2021

Amazing! Love the Afro vibes in everything, specially the vocals. The whole band sounds in the same vibe! I quite enjoy the Funky/Jazzy/Fusion elements and this is a live gig which makes the album much better for the real feel of the genre and the musicians involved. Everything sounds like it should for me. 5 Stars.

Haunted Dancehall by The Sabres Of Paradise
Mar 03 2021

Sort of soundtrack for movies style. Not my thing to listen to without images to pair with.

It's A Shame About Ray by The Lemonheads
Mar 16 2021

I would class it as Teenager rock, easy listening for me.. However, It is very simple and predictable, so I think is only ok. Very vanilla, but good Vanilla. 3/5

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Mar 22 2021

Brilliant Album! Very tasteful elements in the songs and timbre of the instruments/vocals. Everything is quite balanced and it feels really pleasant for me.
