1001 Albums Summary

Elvis Costello introduced me to the Nashville sound (Almost Blue) and both cover the dark “sitting and thinking”. Cloying sentimentality of early 60s USA. Magnificent.

I got into rock music just led zeppelin were being hyped as the greatest. But were they really? You bet. Lots of classic tracks here.

Never heard of them but I rather liked this. Lots of influences - psychedelic, 60s soul, even a song that took David Cassidy to number 1.

I’m glad I listened to Eminem because I haven’t done so before. I enjoyed it; it’s pop music with limited substance in the lyrics but I can’t knock it.

Nope. Life’s too short to listen to this. Big drums, big keyboards, big hair. I guess it would be ok in a stadium on a summers night but doesn’t hold my interest.

I don’t need to listen to this. I could sing it to you I’ve played it so many times. A favourite album by a favourite performer. The lyrics and the ever changing arrangements, his voice gets richer with age.
