Technique
New Order
- Fine time - dated mixing, odd opening track for album, sheep outro? 3/10
- All the way - hooky melody, solid mixing, coherant synths 7/10
- love less - emotive vocals 6/10 nice accoustic guitars
- round and round - stab synths.. how original. interesting outro. 5/10
- guilty partner - nice vibes, not my vibes though. 4/10
- run - not bringing anything new in second half but authentic, dist guitars pop 8/10 (got a like)
- mr disco - love song. eh? were the drums a big deal at the time? 5/10
- vanishing point - vocals wtf. distinctive vibes 6/10
- dream attack - raw piano nice. standout for effort? overstay's welcome.
overall: 6.5/10, retrospectively generic, likely defined it's genre. Genre - ick
overall thoughts: vanilla clubby poppy synth with a hint of drugs addled mixing. Kids these days dont appreciate the greats because everyone ended up sounding like them? sounds like a time in the world.. you had to be there?

Stardust
Willie Nelson
tracks
Stardust - surprised by crooner vibes & how 'produced' it is, restrained orchestration 6/10
Georgia on my mind - sucker for the outro harmonica 7/10
blue skies - not sure why but not getting it. Odd for most listened to track of album 5/10
all of me - hints of nelson, meh? 5/10
unchained melody - when the guitar stops, the song pops. sucker for harmonica again. crescendo! 8.5/10
september song - grand piano and easily +1, still not stretching vocals? heartfelt saves it 7/10
on the sunny side of the street - ...why? never heard a distorted harmonica before, I now know why. 2/10
moonlight in vermont - reverb is great idea, harmonica solo is a little cliche but probs not for it's time, 8/10
dont get around much anymore - keychange is nice, 6/10
someone to watch over me -
overall thoughts
timeless? outlaw country has grown up and needs lounge music. wiki says the recording was stripped back / minimal. Would love modern minimal re-production. some standouts. odd this album over red headed stranger

Blue
Joni Mitchell
all I want - crystal clear vocals, pick a note though. got a like. "I want to shampoo you"... 7/10
my old man - flighty notes really fit. 8/10
little green - evocative, open 7/10
carey - energy & vibes but no real hook? - 7/10
blue - title song, this gotta be good. that piano, wow. 8.5/10
california - some jazzy chords. 'he gave me back my smile but kept my camera to sell'! 6/10
this flight tonight - love the rich guitars, funny headphone effect. 7/10
river - ... I prefer the ellie goulding version. piano harshly recorded 6/10
a case of you - prefer the kd lang version. where's the depth? 5/10
the last time I saw richard - strong lyrics, emotive.
## overall
no clear songalong bits, stumbly & emotive pacing. evasive rythms. not quite enough to be best album ever.
8/10
